Love this thread!

All I can say is that SoCal early eighties was punk rock heaven. Social D, DIs, X, Black Flag, Circle Jerks, the list goes on.

Early eighities......Yea brah', we (Right Coast) had Night Flight and New Wave theater on the USA channel, maybe ? a step behind the Left Coast scene.
The Mentors should be added to the list. I skanked to El Duce once or
twice.

I caught The Mentors with DI open for Social D at the Music Machine in West LA in either '83 or '84. I didn't hear much about them after that.

DI is great, classical punk.Saw them in the movie Suburbia and i love a lot of their songs to this day, i think theyre still playing, trying to make a buck

Minor Threat

Ian was preaching some furious stuff.
Oh yea! I saw The Meatmen with Brain Baker and Lyle Presler ? playing guitar. Never saw them as Minor Threat.

I believe EL Duce passed out drunk on some RxR tracks. Never saw the Mentors live, guess I never will.
I think I'll pull out some vinyl and piss off the neighbors!

MDC had a rockin' sound but had some issues.
