Netjets reserve schedule is not reserve in the airline sense. Since no netjets pilots have a set flight schedule, airline-style reserves are unnecessary. As I understand it, nobody is on reserve...or everybody is, depending on how you look at it.

dude, have you and brokedik read any of the posts from the MEC on IBT message board?

I'm not saying I am for everything, but give it a chance the final language isn't even out yet and from what I can tell you and brokedik are diks.

Calm down sally....I was answering someone elses question. And that Mr.Dick to you.

I don't trust 'em at all with the "new" reserve. I can see it now...6 on / 3 off / 7 on / 4 off / 5 on / remainder off. I can't give up my H days.

I talked to a very senior NJ pilot that always claims 3 things that make any job good.

1. W2s
2. 401k
3. Time home

(note: crew food is not one of this guys priorities)

1. If the schedule choices give me the opportunity to make more money, then this must be good.

2. If I make more money, then I put more into my 401k.

3. If I can drive 30 minutes to a closer airport, then I get more time home.

These 3 items are met.

Some questions...

1. How will vacation time work? (7days still = 21 days ?).

2. will the company still pay for my parking?

3. when does this go into effect?

Your right....but that's not my problem. The company can open ANY airport at ANY time.....

Im not gonna get f*ucked just cause someone don't like their base.....I had to drive 60 miles to my base before the contract.

You had to drive 60 whole miles?

Ibb

I have talked to a few guys, one contract committee, and two stewards. All say the Hard Days are NOT going away. Pay will go UP, they just haven't finished negotiating that area yet. You are NOT going to take a pay cut of ANY sort. HBA's are NOT changing. You like where you are based...good, stay there. You do NOT have to give it up. Have you actually read this thing yet? I don't understand. The H-day section is not in the proposal as such in language, but it will be there in the end I am told. They are just opening up the options. Also you will know what days you will have off by the 15th of the month prior after you bid your preferential days off. No real change there, just 15 and 18 day and the option of the company to keep you out for one set of 8 days on the 18, and then give you mandatory min of 5 days off after that one set of 8 IF they needed to use you for 8 days. 7&7 is NOT changing. If you look at it, it's actually a pretty good deal on the "face" of it. That doesn't mean much until the end product is presented though. For everyone who says "I'm not taking a pay cut"...well, if you read it, you AREN'T. For those saying "i'm not going to give up my HBA"...well, if you read it, you AREN'T! It actually gives HBA people a little more flexibility. I'm more curious about the PTO bank system. The method of time accrual (sp?) and how much you earn each month haven't been decided yet. I have also had the above listed people ask me back in May and June if I would vote for expanded "domiciles". I asked what the chances are of getting HBA for everyone before the next contract, and everyone said "None, you will not get that no matter what". So, for me, as a junior guy, the 100 domiciles are a he!! of a lot better than being stuck with the 5 the we are forced into now. Please read the proposal before you comment on it. I know things were bad here before. I haven't been drinking any "Kool-Aid". All one can do is actually read it, I mean READ it and not scan it, get all the info you can, and then make an EDUCATED decision. So far I'm not seeing much of that. Don't bother flaming if you haven't actually read the d@mn thing. Just remember, I HAVEN'T decided yet either. It "looks" good right now, and that means a heck of a lot of nothing. We'll just have to see what comes of it and make an educated decision then.

Thats what I said from the start....problem is that soon as something in writing comes out all the dinosaurs of senior guys freak ut thinking its the end of the world.

How is it a paycut? 18 day rsv will pay more then the current rsv now. If your going to talk sh!t at least get it correct. Your taking a pay cut IF YOU bid the 7&7.

Reserve schedule goes away.

You do not have to BID 7/7. It is the default schedule. So if you don't bid the 18 or 15 day schedule ... you get stuck on 7/7 and take a paycut (Unless 7/7 pay is increased to match current Reserve)

Here is the solution:

If the new schedules are so great...

Just leave the current Reserve as an Option. Nobody will bid it since the new scheds are so much better. I have not talked to a Reservist who likes what we see in these new schedules.

I don't see anything to like about what has been released.

I'm on reserve and I like the new options...especially the 15 day. I hate 7 day tours, the 15 day will get at least an ext day pay for it plus an overall raise...that could be close to 15k a year compared to the 19k a yr I get extra on the reserve now. Now if I ext one day a month with the new open time ext day system I'm looking at 25k a yr for 16 days a month and I control the extra day and max 5 day tours (or 6 day if I extend).

I am averaging 15 days a month on the reserve now, and I betting you won't work 15 days every month on the new reserve according to BO.

So again tell me...why should we pass on this option and wait 2-3 more years with no pay raise? 6k more a yr means I cap out my 401k and Social Security earlier in the yr...possibly by mid august. That is 500 a month...a pretty nice car. Again why would I pass up a free car for 2-3 years for working the same or less?

If you're on the reserve schedule at netjets and like it you're going to lose a lot. Hard days are going away, read the union message board. On the 18 day schedule you will be able to request certain days off. Totally up to scheduling to grant them. I'm pretty sure you will go out for one 8 day tour during the bid period. Think about the utilization they'll get out of you then. On the reserve schedule now I'm able to place my H days before and after my vacation in a way that allows me to get 25 days off in a row, so that's another loss. I like the flexibilty of the reserve now to get certain days off I need every month and it's not at the whim of scheduling whether you get them or not. 7 and 7 doesn't allow me to do this nor do the new schedules. So these new schedules are a big win for the company and a loss for the reserve guys now.

Lets see FRDA is going away, can you say more crew rot. No thanks, I do enough crew rot the way it is. The whole purpose of FRDA was to prevent this when you didn't have a plane to fly or one crewmember missing. Now we're going to just let them keep us there a hour longer and multiple times a day. I'll wait until 2010 unless this changes in the final proposal.

Schedule bidding every year on June 1st so now junior guys can't plan anything for the summers because they might lose their line. How about making the open bid earlier in the year. Unless this get fixed in the final proposal it's a no vote for me.

That's good for you but I always go out for 18 days even if it means an airline to the hotel on day 1 and then shutdown for an airline home on day 2. Happens to me a lot so I doubt that would change on the 15 day schedule. Don't give scheduling to much credit they're all about showing utilization even at the cost of throwing money away.

H days are definitely not gone....yet.....they may come back...if they don't there will have to some way for you to get your days off. IF your working 18 days anyway bid the 18 day schedule and you may get to bid for what line you want or put in your preferences for a line build.

And no I don't trust Chop Shey and I know the union doesn't either and I am confident there will be some protections against him.

You say "I will be losing alot". How do you know? It is not final yet. Are there loop holes? Yep. Do they seem to be addressing them? Yep. To say you are voting NO and "THIS OR THAT WILL HAPPEN" is a bit alarmist. I see great potential. Is that a YES vote? Not by a long shot. I will be waiting for the final document.

there is no way this thing can pass......you'll just love it when you want your juicy reserve and someone more senior decides to do it....and you get bumped to a 7&7 AND take a pay-cut....

so go ahead and love the IBB.....lol

Dy'a think somewhere, somebody is giggling their butt off watching the unified pilots of 1108 rip each other up in the middle of a bargaining period? Divide and conquer my friends. Divide and conquer.

I have read them and they make me nervous as hell. I keep asking myself over and over, one simple thing WHY. Hell, they did this without the survey even being complete. They just finished that the other day and this document came out on Saturday night. No way in hell they put all that survey info into this document, no time.

Why all the changes. Also you have to ask yourself what is the long term gain out of this. Is there something behind door number 3, that we don't know about yet.

From the sources I have, the pay they are talking about is a joke and won't make the grade. It is going down like a sorority girl on prom night.

Company does have the right under the current CBA to open as many Domiciles as it wants, but the ability of pilots to change domiciles is very limited is it not? Therefore the new list is better.

With or without H days, they are talking about PTO days, do they not get you the specific days off you need much like H days?

The worst aspect of the current reserve is the 7 on 4 off for me. The 5 day max under the new 15 day schedule sounds great to me, although I probably won't be able to hold it if everyone bids it. The current reserve was hated when the new CBA came out, senior guys would not let go of their precious 7n7 and the junior guys were assigned it. Now it being bid by senior guys and junior guys can't touch it. I thought the new reserve sucked when we were discussing the votes on the current CBA? What changed???

Uhhhh... that's exactly what happens with the current contract. Each quarter, you have to bid to stay on reserve, and it's assigned in seniority order. You can be--and, in fact, I have been--bumped off the reserve and onto the lower-paying 7/7 by a more senior pilot.
