It's true that Netjets management should change the domicile situation anyways if they want to continually attract better and better pilots (and reduce attrition). It is clearly a bargaining chip.

Hmm????

RP 170

It is looking out for the new guys in the long run. We want everybody to have HBA's. Company can do that at the drop of a hat.

The people who have been here for years are in a better position to judge then the newhires. It may seem they are being "left behind", but nothing could be further then the truth.

Johnsonrod;

They are trying to use more bases as a bargaining chip. They need the change to get more pilots. They can do that at any time. Why are they even asking us? They are trying to gain ground by exchanging for something they need more then we do.

There has been no mention of increased wages at this point. I'm sure that is where the ca ca will really hit the fan.

Wow... that would be nice for you and perhaps nice for Flex. Perhaps we will follow. I love it when you guys do all the work for us and we just tag along.

nice work!!!

I understand that fact. The fact that people are going to say "I'm not voting" doesn't seem to display much unity. I respect the decision for someone to vote "no" or "yes" but why would you not vote?

Perhaps he was being polite vs. saying he would vote no. For anyone who was at Netjets before homebasing was changed, evidently this contract does not provide anything new or valuable to them. There is no talk of monetary increase. NJA management is using the new domicile list as a carrot and as a negotiating chip despite the fact that they should provide more domiciles anyway to attract more qualified pilots and to stem current attrition. Management could just offer new domiciles but they haven't - they are using it as a bargaining chip for the newer pilots who have been restricted - unlike the homebased pilots.

For a senior pilot, the new offer really doesn't provide anything substantial for them incremental to what they already have (no talk about more cash)... So, in their minds, why consider more domiciles when money should be the first priority and the domicile situation doesn't impact them (they are already lucky to be homebased). I understand their viewpoint and they have worked hard to get Netjets to where it is now (the senior pilots had to sweat through the really hard times before the last contract) but the new guys are likley to feel slighted as a result.

I still think it is in the best interest of Netjets to offer better domiciles going forward - why lose out on better qualified pilots who refuse the current domicile list. Having more domiciles has worked well for Citationshares and Avantair...

Nothing from me.....my HBA stay the same and my 7&7 stays the same.....so I dont really even need to vote on this.....

That's right, damn those junior pilots. Let em quit. I got mine so pull up the ladder. NJ's "B" scale lives on.

Can you elaborate for the rest of us who are not privy to the negotiation? What has been proposed?

Just a bunch of bull******************** from the company.....it looks to me like an attempt to basically remove the current CBA.

I feel bad for the post rat guys but while everyone was crying about the ********************ty pay I took the job.....now I have the moeny and HBA's.....im not giving that up for anyone....

I for one am happy about the Interest Based Bargaining. Will it pass? Who knows...things are happening fast and changing daily.

That being said the company is profitable, the current contract is good enough that guys are perfectly happy to ride it out until 2010, so it is a win win to me. We have a chance to improve life for the new guys, and some other "improvements". More scheduling options for more money, shorter tours etc. Paid time off instead of sick time which would result in MORE days off if notice is given. More money...how much? We don't know, but at least a "bump".

Is it all a win win for everyone? Not even close, but I don't see any glaring give backs to to company, just more of one group getting something while leaving another group out.

Many of the pilots here are like Michael Vicks dogs...it is going to take awhile to make them family pets (myself included). We tend to snap first...and even trickier is that it seems our own Michael Vick is the one trying to win our trust.

This is, from what I can tell, the prevailing viewpoint of most senior pilots at NJA. I have heard this from friends who are there. Can't say that I blame them after what they went through before the latest contract... However, NJA will stand to benefit considerably if it can expand its domiciles by attracting more and better-qualified pilots. Will that happen? Who knows.....

Nothing stops them from expanding bases or giving HBA to everyone.

But the IBB is a $20K paycut for me... when the Reserve Schedule goes away.

No thanks. I can wait till 2010 and live with the current CBA.

How is it a paycut? 18 day rsv will pay more then the current rsv now. If your going to talk sh!t at least get it correct. Your taking a pay cut IF YOU bid the 7&7.

dude, have you and brokedik read any of the posts from the MEC on IBT message board?

I'm not saying I am for everything, but give it a chance the final language isn't even out yet and from what I can tell you and brokedik are diks.

Hi!

I don't understand how NetJets could do away with reserve. What have they done with the schedule to ensure no reserve pilots are needed?

Your right....but that's not my problem. The company can open ANY airport at ANY time.....

Im not gonna get f*ucked just cause someone don't like their base.....I had to drive 60 miles to my base before the contract.
