It's not an ALPA attorney.
It's 4 line pilots who will have to work the rest of their career in the combined airline. They're not getting some crazy ALPA super-secret fund to retire on or getting jobs in Herndon; they'll be going back to the line when it's all done.
Wish there was a Transtar/Muse person to chat with about it. Not saying anyone here doesn't think they're posting what really happened, but the people who were living the event first-hand often have a unique perspective, and I'd like to hear it...ALPA national put the kibosh to it and there was not any stapling with what SWAPA and the local MEC came upon an agreement to.
There should be nothing to discuss. You guys begged for a staple (Lear70 himself), so what's the problem? Take the staple, the massive pay raise and get on with your lives.
Sorry to disappoint you, but there were only two sections still open (out of 20) at the time the deal was announced.
Btw, I got a whopping 8% raise. I'm sure the Arbitrator will be impressed how we dragged the ball over the finish line.
