Rich,

Did you ever do any research into whether or not your bribery resulted in a more senior pilot on the "call first" list being bypassed?

Seems like "every attempt" by crew scheduling to abide by the call first/call last list might have involved simply opening a pizza box and dialing your number - instead of consulting the list.

Not knocking ya, bro... you brought it up.

Hope life is well at AirTran.
Yeah, life is pretty good. April is looking like a really crappy flying month, simply because we don't have enough pilots and all my requests are being denied... despite the pizzas I sent last December. ;)

In all seriousness, they have been instructed not to disregard FLICA anymore and the coverage just isn't there... That's just life, so, for the first time since last summer, I have to work weekends again. Oh well. :)

Incidentally, it's very true that they might have bypassed a senior guy on "call first" on reserve,,, if there had been any of those. For 3 years I sat one or two people off holding a line (the top of the reserve list). So probably not, but it's possible it might have happened once or twice.

I doubt it "completely made their lives miserable", but then again it might have ruined their whole career... ;)

How's things these days...?

damn, everyone is so angry. Calm down. Everybody calm down!!!

We knew the hiring of street captains was coming. Unless they lowered the upgrade time, it was inevitable. Don't worry, we'll lose the 15 CRJ's today and be back to normal staffing.

Oh wait, just another management trick...:bomb:

Even if they lose the 15 CRJs, isn't it suppose to be 3/month? So it would still take a total of 5 months to remove those 15. Right? Isn't that the condition? They can only take away 3/month?

regional math proof:

Regionals with the worst contracts = shortest upgrade times

Not true. I'm coming up on 4th year pay at Pinnacle and no upgrades in sight anywhere. Even when they do start, they will go super senior. Meanwhile, Colgan is upgrading in the Q400, and it's going pretty junior. I thought I read on this forum it's down to a 2008 DOH for upgrade.

Actually very true. Not many other regional airlines have had street captains, most that did were at the lower end of the spectrum regarding contracts. The few others were start-ups, 9E over the last 10 or so years has drawn from the street several times, they are also the only one that I know of that if a candidate was promising during training they would be moved to the left seat. Even when they were hired for the right seat.

You need to look at the history, not present day. People signing on up to 5 years ago with 9E knew the ride was over with more equipment, they were betting on attrition. One day it will happen, hopefully then those who have waited so long it will be worthwhile with a better contract.

Awesome! Congrats to all those FO's who got the fast upgrade.
I'm off to the lab in my basement. I am going to invent a material to imitate a pin cushion, sell it to the government so they can start rolling it out all over the earth.
When these planes start falling out of the sky, hopefully it will lessen collateral damage and secondary explosions.

It's amazing how many of you actually pay attention here. This thread is old. The last post on it was April 1st, 2007 until someone did a "CLEAR" on its chest. 1.3XVso only wanted to know what happened to Mr. Marc Hill, nothing else.

Then again, I'm so broke I can't afford to pay attention, either.
