What start up cost? I think the reason we are really still around is the versatility of our airline. We have no start up cost. Just open a bid for PHX, get the planes together and send a few MX Guys out there to work from a US Airway Hanger.
Only cost will be to get all the planes on line.

Now will it happen?? If history tells us anything the answer is "no".

Of course there is some cost, but the cost of getting Mx and Pilots and FA's out to PHX is the least of there worries.

Doesn't MAG have in their contract with (originally AWA) US Airways that no other express carrier may operate out of PHX in said colors other than MAG?

PSA (Jetstream) ran J31s out of LAX in 1992. They deadheaded crews out to LA, flew 4 days and deadheaded back on the 4th day. No crew base was used. The mechanics were TDY month by month.

I feel you're pain. When we first got the Dash 8 300's that's all we F'in did. CLT-FAY CLT-GSP CLT-GSO CLT-AVL CLT-RDU CLT-ILM CLT-TRI CLT-CAE Blah Blah Blah! We used to have 8 leg days!!!!! And the pay for the day was like 5hrs. Horrible

But then again it makes more sense flying a dash on most flights less then 30 minutes.

I think in spite of those long high leg days, most PDT pilots would rather Dash's fly them instead of RJ's, seein how it's a big waste of fuel for the same lift with the same block time.
