can you think of how bad it would be if there was like even just 10 sick calls on a given day, or even if there were 3 or 4 from the same base sick calling, it would be devastating to the company, i think we should almost do it, or no more am i going to help them out with always departing on time, forget that ********************, i'm calling the times straight up from now, reading the checklist slow like the faa wants it to be read, and taxing at a fast walk.

Pull that shyt on the last leg of a four day with some of the guys around here, and you won't be able to walk at all.

Seriously, though- first off, that's borderline job action and that will get attention of the kind we really don't want. Secondly, it does you no good, the pax no good, and mgt really doesn't care.

Get capped now and nail 'em like they nailed you. Shoot, go visit Dr. Summeroff if you're that burnt out.

Remember, if your tired...... your tired! I'm SAFE!!

Well I was a little tired, but I can deal with that. What bothers me is that I have my schedule changed every other day because there aren't near eough FOs. Reserves should be covering stuff like this. I might as well not even bid a line because half the time they just make up a schedule for me anyway.

I quit!

I'm flying my last trip right now.

I will miss the great ROA crews and the deHavilland Dash-8.

I will never forget this experience.

Only 4 legs left wish me luck!!!!

congrats dieseldash brighter skies probably ahead for you. i'm leaving in the next few months just waiting on a class date.

commuuter clause info

anyone know about our commuter clause. i've already listed for like a billion flights for tomorrow, i'm registered as a commuter. i've never really had to use the commuter clause int he past two years i've been here. just curious as to how schedules will react if i can't get on my primary flight. any stories or words of wisdom when dealing with our scheduling when it comes to commuter clause stuff...

Oh, and I forgot. Those last two were CAs. For the FOs C.D. left last week w/o notice and atleast 4 other FOs I know will be leaving very soon. I'm sure I know you DieselDash.

At least four different FOs were pay protected on a CLT-SBY round trip yesterday. They finally had one guy fly it, then DH back to CLT on it while a different FO brought it back to CLT.

When I left home, my 4 day trip paid about 22 hours. When I got home, I was protected at 33. Had 5 days off before the trip, and was 30 in 7 by yesterday.

Ha wow...i think most of the fo's quitting are relatively junior am i right? what range emp #'s are we talking? it seems as though people stay here a year at best and then bail.

3 FO's gone from SYR this month. 2+ years for each of them. Looking through the reserves, I see a total of 9 FO whole reserve lines for the month of March system wide. Granted, this does not include those in training and the buildups have some RSV days, but this seems way too low. As listed on finals SYR has a total of 4 RSV days scheduled for FOs (1 guys Buildup line) for the entire month. Early last year, I recall SYR having like 7+ FOs on reserve alone. That may have been a few too many, but how can mgmt say we are still properly staffed? I agree, 3 of calling out sick the same morning would be detrimental.

I'm not trying to be soft here, but I almost feel bad for scheduling cause they have to find ppl to fill the open times and sick calls, which means listening to us complain about JR MAN and extensions. There's nothing they can really do about it. They can't just hire more pilots. I'm sure they would want more available causing assigning a reserve work is alot easier than assigning a line holder ammended schedules. Remember to be calm with scheduling, and talk to mgmt about your anger who can change the situation. Calm only means low voice and respect. Get every credit hour possible out of them, it ain't their money.
