Typical. It seems to me that this would be an excellent time to not pick up anything extra. Then your MEC should offer to open up sec 6 negotiations a little early and we may be able to help.

Now that's funny! We may be able to help? We? What, Do you have a mouse in your pocket?

I hope your not PSA, I believe you folks helped PDT and former ALG folks enough! No thanks for that help!!

And if your Mesa, we'll nevermind!

quick question! if i am displaced from a trip (i'm a hard line holder)
and i pick up a rsv day on one of the days that i was displaced from, does the 4.0 go above the pay protected trip that i was taken off of. or does it even make sense to pick it up if the pay protected trip is worth more than any amout of flying i can pick up on the side during a rsv day. *I'm a hard line holder*

You all sit here and bragg about how your "working" the system, but then you piss and moan about the extra work. You can't have your cake and eat it too.

Newbie, If we want your opinion we'll give it too you!!

Know Your Role!

Didnt D.E commute to ROA in his C152? I seem to remember something like that just before I left.

Yeah, the ROA D.E. had just bought a Cessna and was commuting from his fly-in community in South Carolina. I think he was building the RV at the same time. In fact, my last trip with him he did indeed show me his plane parked at the FBO as we taxied out.

D.E. in MDT was a relatively good guy too compared to some of the other MDT cappy's.

sounds like all the reserve captains have been getting used in the right seat lately. I don't think the company is prepared for the pending exodus.

After getting capped on jr. mans is when the real Piedmont negotiations began. Plus, if you offered R----nne a two liter Pepsi and a bag of doritos for you day of work plus what you negotiated, you were in!

Pending exodus? I think it's already happening.

I got the call last week, the Piedmonster will be another FO short in a in a month!! Seee-yaaa Johnny B. They are gonna be so short that maybe J.K. will have too fly the line, I would love to welcome him back with a nice, fresh dump in his flight bag!!!

Now that they have a Sim eval with the interview it's going to be hard to fill those seats. What are the mins now? Last I knew something like 1200 and 100. It may have gone back down to 500.
They should somehow make reserve life better. Maybe the 3-6 month guys would stick around longer and not get burned out. Maybe 11 days off rather than 10, and 5 day stretch instead of 6. That would make a big difference.

Never gonna happen. I've asked on numerous occasions why schedules can't be better. The answer is always "if you have any ideas, please share them....".

When the ideas are shared, there's always a reason they can't do it.

mins

current mins for off the street are 1000/200! university connections are quite a bit less.

So what you're saying is that those of us with potential interviews with PDT should consider looking elsewhere?

Ok I tried to keep my mouth shut, but as an ex-Piedmont FO and I am now at Comair. ALL regionals are having the same problem right now. We are all short staffed. When I first came here the QL of life was awsome. Not so much now. Granted I have only gotten junior manned once in the last 4 years, but we are all short staffed.

i talked to a certain guy in the traiinng department and asked about what they are doing for the sim eval. make a 360 degree circle, and then get vectors for an ils approach. nothig fails of course, and they (training department) could care less what speed you put the gear out at, or the flpas. all they want to see is that you do put gear and flaps down before you land.

So what you're saying is that those of us with potential interviews with PDT should consider looking elsewhere?

The bottom line is that there is absolutely no incentive for anyone to come and work here unless he wants to gain a few hundred hours of turbine time and go to Shaneekwa. Now I'm stuck now bc I'm 3 years deep like so many others and there is no movement whatsoever. So yes, look somewhere else....and no I'm not trying to be negative...just realistic.

100 days free of aircraft damage in PHL

Anyone else notice how good the free food was today in PHL? Even better than the Thanksgiving spread. Ribs that fell off the bone, sweet corn on the cob, and chicken. It was dang good.

Figures they would have good food in PHL on a day when I am NOT there. Instead, I was poisoning myself with that swill they call "food" in the LGA food court.
