is now $2.00 per hour, up from $1.50p/h. no more mystery all you can eat buffets in laredo! all kidding a side it certainly doesn't hurt none.

yeah, but you know good ole fleet will still take back as much of it as he can.

Forget the solid diet (buffet)! Now you can upgrade that liquid diet.. no more PBR or Keystone...High Life and Busch here you come!!! :)

How many DC9s and 737s do you guys operate? Are pilots hired directly into those airplanes? How long would it take a typical FA20/LR24 FO to move up to the DC9/737 FO slot?

Lastly, what percentage of your pilots are based out of ADS vs. YIP?

* 3 DC-9's, 2 737's
*(Yes) 121 Time required to be hired of the street.
*Depends on performance and time spent with company.
*Most pilots are home based these days.

this place isn't that bad for me. i have bills to pay and that regional first year money is coming up short like that county check,"just aint enough". aside from that, its good experience. im home based and work 20 days a month. could be less but i am here to fly as much as possible and move on. quick upgrade as well. no one has been vilolated since i showed up, but from what other guys say it usually was cause the pilot was doing something they knew they weren't suppose to. or incriminating them selves on a discrepency sheet. call me stupid nieve or just dumb but getting violated could happen anywhere to anyone. if you let dispatch push you around get ready for a letter from your freindly neighborhood POI. Plenty of guys graduated from here with no LOIs or violations. Act like youre the captain and tell dispatch to call some that cares when they start crying about the freight being late cause the airplane is broken or the weather is crappy. Not acting like those really "cool" captains that think they are on a special list cause they always get the job done is half the battle.

135 side of the house, home basing is not offered to new hires. a bunch of guys have been grandfatehred in though.

Would they have done this if USA Jet had not rasied per-diem? BTW still hiring Captain off the street? Making everyone sign a contract?

Good luck moving from the 135 side to the 121 side. They'll dangle that carrot forever and keep telling you to be patient and it never comes. Stay away from that sh*thole. 5 fatalities in 5 years with only one solidly attributable to pilot error. There's no way you can convince me AJI is a safe place to work!

i dont know any street captains.
unfortunatly, yes.

The proper way to retain pilots is by giving carrotts, not beating with sticks. It does really work.

????? duly noted. you need to start a mangers board so you, doug and TW can argue about things like who runs the "best" stepping stone cargo company.

Something to be said about being the best of the bottom feeders, we are happy to see our pilots advance in thier careers to places like NJ, SWA, AirTran, etc. I think it is a tribute to our recruiting and training.

You mean you guys don't have single seniority list, why our guys bid into the DC-9 after 2-3 months of flying the DA-20.

you win. i lose.
you're smart. i'm dumb.
you're strong. i'm weak

and usajet is the best job in the world. you guys over there are a direct descendant from god himself. all other pilots are inferior.

Ahh yes the living in denial clause. Try getting out on the road some time and asking loaders and line guys who are the worst guys to have to deal with. Waaaaiiit for it....ding ding ding you got it. USA Jet crews. Can't tell ya how many looks of ( wow you're actually gonna help and not be a complete putz) I used to get when we loaded and or helped loaded freight? Too many to count.

Too me this is simple, if the FBO is being paid by active aero to load/unload the freight I will assist, but I'm not going to do the heavy lifting. If the FBO is getting paid then I have no business double dipping and making my company pay for me and the FBO for the same work. Maybe you didn't get paid for loading and unloading when it was necessary? Or maybe you did it when it was not necessary for your own benefit. Do you know what kind of cash a FBO makes for loading/unloading? Its alot more than what we make! Honest pay.... honest work! (Although I am still in full favor of a raise in monthly guarantee, but I have never met someone that doesn't want more money)

AJI doesn't get extra pay for loading or unloading the aircraft.

Will the raise in Per-diem get more idiots to go there? Probably will they realize their mistake before the worst happens probably, but with the lawyers on speed dial TW will keep them there.

It is the loaders job, they are paid well to do it, we are standing to our contract with them to make them do thier job. BTW it might get our uniforms messed up.

AJI BUTTON - PUSH
JUS BUTTON - PUSH

I don't see why we should touch a d@mn box if they are charging us $200+ to unload/load. If it's one dude and a forklift, and a ton of freight, of course I'm gonna have that sh1t off on my own, in an instant.

Sometimes its fun watching four guys in Saltillo take 30 minutes trying to unload the Falcon. Only took us 5-10 to load, but hey! It's the same guys every time, not like we haven't shown them before! Mercurio Cargo charges quite a bit for that service as well.

Well you should feel all warm and fuzzy inside that they scammed you into doing their work! I bet that makes the roach motel mattress all the more comfy after a long day.

I don't see this thread going anywhere!

BTW, we have to load and unload without pay too, except in Mexico. And we get our polo's all dirty too! I'd rather load and unload than wear that monkey suit flying old cargo planes any day, unless its that damn loose load of 5000#'s!

Nice to get $2 per diem raise though.

I am lower than you, and you can't prove it.

What a great thread a bunch of bottom feeders trying find out who is really on the bottom. BTW Proud to be a bottom feeder, this is where the real flying is done by real men and women as the case may be. Reminds of bunch of Navy boat drivers and airplane drivers bashing each other at the club, until an Air Force winnie walks in and bad mouths the Navy. Then everyone is against the Air Force Winnie
