The relief being sought by ALPA is an order requiring the defendants to establish a multi-party adjustment board to enable the board to resolve the "flow-through" dispute.

If a PSA or Pied pilot has put in say 7 years working for US Airways shouldn't he/she get put above someone that worked for Delta that whole time? Time served at a wholly owned should be worth something. Call it payback for the carolina shuttle experience.

rumor is 31 furlough and 18 downgrade effective May 1st. VLOA is available for April, no word for after that.

I repeat, rumor. As good as any other...

Steve posted a new memo. As of right now they "plan" on returning 7 more 100s in fall. Good luck to all. Anybody got the number of that truck driving school? 1-800-big-rigs?

Chief pilot says the WARN letters are going out next week... Good luck class of '08, you are about to be decimated...

Another day, another sh1t sandwich is served at PDT... it just don't stop does it?

Has anyone heard any more rumors about how many are going to get furloughed? Zasca, do you have any more reason to believe/confirm that 31 rumor you mentioned?

Kinda easy math, but it depends on how they wanna staff the airline. Right now we are pretty fat staffed.

Lose 11 planes and your looking at close to 90 pilots on the street by fall, with about 40 or so downgrades!

I like how Farrow wanted to give everyone a heads up. heheheheh, you know he wouldn't have said anything if there were a bunch of other Regionals hiring. He would have milked it till the last second so people wouldn't bail left and right. But since nobody has a airline to jumpship too he thought he would let everyone know early out of the kindness of his heart.

Current list shows 484 pilots. 56 hired in 08. If you use 90 as the furlough number that would take you back to a 10/07 DOH.

well the 31 number came from a captain who will be downgraded in the first round. Apparently those were numbers being thrown around between mgmt and alpa. Since we will supposedly be down to 47 airplanes worth of flying come May, it seems like a reasonable number to me. Mgmt made it sound like they were making cuts that would be slightly harsher than initially required for the 4 planes, which might mean you'll get to fly with Hey Buddy because we will be understaffed a few days a month in the summer. SBY will be REALLY short reserve FO's in May! I fear what may happen with the realignment...

Seeing as how I'm right near the cutoff point (depending on which estimate/rumor is right), I'm really hoping that captain had incorrect information or that they've since lowered it some. Obviously, even if I did manage to hang on I'd probably get furloughed this fall, but I'd still prefer that to it happening now (and the extra time might give the economy a chance to bounce back, even though I think it doubtful based on my economic/political views). Have we given up hope on the over-60 retirement program ALPA was trying for?

Do you have any info on when we'll actually hear the final number of furloughs? I don't much care for the idea of having to watch my mailbox for a WARN letter to find out.

I agree though, I fear this realignment is going to be pretty messy regardless.

This F'in sucks. I am usually the positive one, but I can't find a single shred of good here at PDT now.

I hope we shred 'em in contract negotiations.

it may not be that bad of a time to negotiate. Airways is expecting good profits this year and it is sad about these 11 planes, but the other 44 are spoken for until 2014.

It is a great time to negotiate :-(

We are either going to exist or we aren't. What we get on our contract has nothing to do with it whatsoever.

If they want us to fly the airplanes, it is time they paid up. Pure and simple. Max pay to the last day!

Are you still in the left seat?

Bye Bye--General Lee

Yes, Left seat at Piedmont with nowhere to go! When is Delta Gonna start hiring again? I put my stuff in right when they slammed the door shut.

My buddy at UPS says there are gonna cut 300 pilots loose. He's about 500 from the bottom, so its time to start saving that nice money he's making now.

Yes, and we are the lowest paid 50 seat drivers and still working under a concessionary contract!

Sad part is, we have so many senior folks that are just fat, dumb and happy. They don't want the boat rocked at all.

This will be a every fun filled year at Piedmont.

Good luck to all those that might find themselves without a job in the next few months.

Well... You are right about those fat dumb and happy folks. Plenty of peer pressure is in order!

We have to get people fired up. This is our one shot to reverse 7+ years of concessions.

Well, in this case, its obvious that "concessions" haven't saved a single job or brought a single airframe to the property. So what's the point? Concessions to save the company? About you, first, Steve?

It is indeed obvious. What you say is the absolute truth industry wide. Concessions do not make a company successful.

The Chief Pilot visited my CQ class today and said that we were going to have "roughly" 20 furloughs in May (didn't give an exact number, but when I pressed him he said that I "should be" safe as #28).

It also sounded like he had little hope for the other 7 aircraft this fall and that we'd be looking at close to 90 total furloughs after returning them (he was estimating in the mid-80s). He went out of his way to say that those were just his "guesses" for those later furloughs, based on that they try to man 4 crews per aircraft.
