I was very familiar with the goings on with the ALG mec untill very recently, and I can tell you with cerainty that there was no "steal the RJ's" deal going on. Again this is what mgmt and ML tells you to get their way!

?

As PSA might be one of the places I end up, I'm really interested in this situation...

The major question on my mind is how did the PSA MEC go so rogue? Why are they going against their consistuents so sharply? And, just as importantly, how can they be reigned in? Next LEC/MEC elections are when?

Thanks in advance for any and all _facts_ you guys have to share.

PS I almost forgot! They also voted in dang near the exact same LOA that we overwhelmingly shot down.
Skeezer, I have to say that from an outsiders view, this must ride on the heads of the PSA pilots. Two yrs ago our MEC went behind your backs and signed a deal you all said you didn't want. That showed what type of leader he is. You guys had two yrs to get rid of this guy yet you didn't. Now he has gone out and done it again. Gone behind the backs of his pilots and signed off on what sounds like a new low for the PSA pilots. The PSA pilots chose to keep this guy in charge knowing the type of person he is and now you need to take responsibility for his actions when he represents you. Just the way I see it. -Bean

Can someone please spell out all of the particulars?

I'm supposed to be in class over there and I need to be making some decisions real, real quick.

Are you going to make a career decision based on what you read on this board? If that is the case I suggest you go to Mesa, It's great there, GO FOR IT MAN!!

BE190,

Settle down, dude -- I'm just trying to get all of the information I can.
I'm a big boy, and know how to make my own choices.

Lighten up, it was a joke. Just what do you need to know? Are the CRJ's going to continue to be delivered to PSA? The answer is yes. Is that good enough? What class date do you have?

Race to the Fukin Bottom.... PSA SUCKS ARSE.......... PLAYED LIKE A FIDDLE... LOVELY... Have FUN..

I get the sinking feeling that what happened two nights ago may well have been the will of the majority at PSA. The pilot group here is easily frightened into doing anything to save their crappy job. Management knows this and plays this pilot group and MEC very well.

My hat's off to PSA and Mainline management, along with the US Airways MEC for knowing that this group will cave with a few threats. Well done boys...well done!

Peace!

I would not worry too much if I were you. As a newhire this will have very little impact on you because you are already junior to every J4J pilot here. The impact on you will be very, very minor. Actually it will be good because we will now get all 85 aircraft assuming US Airways makes it.

In the loa that the mec voted in for us, because they bought the used car sales pitch, (gotta do it now, super final last chance), Load of $hit.

The Slutted bidding system starts out being a percentage based on the ratio of 70 seat A/C vs the 50 seat. If the number ever equals each other then it goes to a one for one.

There has been talk that the RJ orders has been changed to 37/ 200's and 48/ 701's , I think this was nothing more than a carrot that all but one of the mec members bought. I can find nothing offical that says the orders has been changed, not at GE captial, not at bombardier, not on the SEC websight- this action would be a change to the plan to repay the ASTB loan.

So in short, the pilots did not get a say AGAIN (as promised) and All but one member of the MEC bought the Load that was served to them.

I seriously doubt that the Mainline MEC crowd had anything to do with this, after all it is the same thing that management has been doing to them for three years. They are not smart enough to be a player in this one!

But like a W/O guy told me once, You guys voted them in so it must be your fault!

No flame intended, but it looks like the W/O guys are starting to see the crap sandwich that the mainline pilots have been getting served for the past few years. (And I am talking about the line pilot not the MEC stooges that let it get to this mess. Contrary to popular opinion, your average pilot in any given group has zero say in what his or her union is doing, normally we just had to sit back and watch it happen. It looks like PSA is starting to find out how it really works.)

Unionism in general has become a completly political arena. About the only thing you see at mainlines alpa board anymore is the two warring factions throwing dirt at each other, it is worse than the presidential campaigns. Meanwhile U Group is taking a gigantic nose dive down the toilet while the MEC is worried about their petty political agendas. I doubt that any single member of U MEC gives one red rats rear about the pilots that they represent. From what I have seen it is all about their one paycheck.....anybody junior or senior be dam*ed

Welcome to our world. I hope ALPA works differently at other airlines, if every MEC operates like U's, ALPA is doomed.
