The funny thing is Skyboss claims to be in California and at work, but his IP address resolves as a residential high speed internet access account in Colorado.

Me thinks something stinks in a big way...

Ya know, I made a simple comments about a different technology. It wasn't even meant to start a fight, obviously there are a few that pounce on anything that moves in here that doesn't agree with their point of view.

This morning, I let it go. I deleted posts and engaged in friendly conversation, to which several insisted that their way is better. None of us are ever falable, but you don't insult someone just because you don't agree with them.

Have I been a smart a$$, sure. So have others. Now, can we all kiss and make up and move on to a subject other than "Skyboss" is a f'ing liar and doesn't know what the "F" he's talking about? I has grown a bit old.

I'm not a computer expert, not sure how all this technofangled stuff works. Obviously my address is masked, perhaps the service provider does this. I'm sure as hell not in Colorado, although it was warm today.

Service providers don't "mask" addresses for their residential broadband customers. Time-Warner Cable (i.e. Cox.net) certainly doesn't...

I agree. While its fun for a limited time....It gets old real fast. Unless of course s/he is just interested in getting whats coming. Then I will add them to the ignore list.

Where did the MAGLEV thread go?

Looks like it has been deleted, which can only be done by the webmaster, a moderator, or the user who wrote the first post. I tend to doubt Mark or a moderator deleted it, since Mark went to the trouble to MAKE it a separate thread when that discussion became major thread creep elsewhere. Which leaves me to strongly suspect that skyboss deleted his own thread.

Why would he do this? I can only think he would do so to reduce his "number of posts" count -- which is LOWER tonight than it was yesterday, even though he's clearly been posting since then. Or perhaps because skyboss was "losing" the discussion. Or maybe he has another reason.

In any case, though, to delete a fairly lengthy discussion that a lot of people took part in shows a lack of respect for the exchange of ideas that just took place. Deleting a thread that is nothing but flame, I can agree with. Deleting a thread with a discussion of an idea, PARTICULARLY an idea that skyboss himself raised in the first place, strikes me as particularly chicken.

Just my humble opinion, but I think this forum will be a better place without the childish antics of "skyboss." And I'll match my credibility, as measured by the number of times I've gotten a "thanks, that was helpful," against "skyboss" any day.

You can... All IP addresses have a registered owner. Blocks are obtained by service providers for certain purposes (Commercial, Residential high-speed, Dial-Up accounts, etc.). The block that his unique IP address comes from is owned by Time Warner telecom and according to the listing are NOT Portable (crushes his "I'm not in Colorado story")...
