No one is losing their job. No one has lost their job, and in my opinion no one is going to lose their job at NetJets. Yet again B19 is WRONG.

LOL, I guess some would use the logic the 'golden parachutes' many airline executives have taken were really furloughs in disguise.......

of course I'm all for any management folks that think the employees are 'disposable' should be the first ones to be furloughed......

If one single person takes a package to not fly, they in essence are accepting a temp "lay-off" or voluntary furlough.

Call it what you want, but that person can't go out and earn a full paycheck flying for NJ because the contract is TOO EXPENSIVE and something had to be done to offset the cost.

Those that don't take packages will earn full income and not be contributing to helping their brethren.

You told me this couldn't happen fischman.... like always, YOU WERE WRONG.
 
The success is based on the profitability of the company

b19 ill accept your surrender. No furloughs, no cuts, everything is voluntary.

maybe it's best if you just read for a while and not post anything.

just accept that the union and the company get along nd work through the problems and come out with something that is new SAVES JOBS.

If not, then you probably will be able to tell us all how a Contract caused reduced sales and demand... right?

You will probably be able to tell us how the CBA caused management to hire 400 pilots for expected aircraft deliveries and demand for this year that never happened?

You will probably be able to explain how the CBA caused hundreds of workers to be Furloughed at Cessna and Hawker Beech when NJ cancelled and delayed aircraft orders?

OH, one more thing, B, before you get really uptight, I'm going to tell you a little secret that will really butter your noodle. This wasn't just given to the pilot group. Similar plans were created ( or are in the process) for all groups, union, non-union. Pilot, Non-pilot.
So, B, what I am really trying to tell you is, this is a company wide thing, so your drabble about the CBA was too expensive is hogwash, bunk, BS, drivvel, bupkis, zip, just plain ol' not true. SO , My dear, dear B19, "YOU WERE WRONG!""

Are you really splitting hairs between "saving jobs" and "avoiding furloughs?" Can you tell me what difference it makes to the guy trying to put food on his table this month?

You couldn't be more wrong. These programs will be deemed a successful because they will achieve the desired goal. They will reduce the workforce, and they will save the company money. They also have already created tremendous good will from the employees. How much is that worth? If business was only about this quarters numbers, why would anyone spend money on marketing? I'll tell you why, because just like this program, it will payoff in the long run.

I often wonder if you know anything about this business. The more I read your posts, the more convinced I become that you are just entry to mid level management which means you're just another working stiff like us. You are clearly not an executive. It's obvious because you never seem to grasp the big picture. My guess is you just come on here for the sport of stirring the pot, or like others have suggested, you are paid to do it. Either way, your ignorance is evident.

By the way, I've never been a big fan of Unions. But, you are a better Union recruiter than NJW. Seriously! Whatever you think you're trying to accomplish here isn't working. You just pi$s people off.
 
Again, why do you people entertain this DB? He is probably some 20 year old flight instructor who majored in labor relations from the local community college who lives in the basement of his mom's house. He comes on here between surfing for porn and setting up his non-union virtual airline.

There's another issue our "friend" fails to recognize. Economic conditions require the company to "rightsize" the operation's staffing. Whereas a traditional furlough sidelines the bottom of the seniority list (and therefore the lowest paid pilots), this program will encourage many higher paid pilots to VOLUNTARILY depart the company. End result: an even greater long term financial savings to the company than would result from a bottom-up furlough OR pay cuts across the board.

At NJI, the vast majority of the pilots that are prime candidates to take advantage of the early out are long-term, high-paid G-V/550/450 pilots. Early feedback has actually been more encouraging than I expected and this program may turn out to be a win for the company, a win for those near retirement anyway, and a win for junior pilots waiting in line to move up the ladder.

Hmm, it looks to me like there will be a lot of people whose paychecks are not going to be the same.

An early out is a job loss. A leave of absence, job loss. You can split hairs if you want to, but the bottom line is these pilots will not be making a full income.

I've used the example many times about how unions loved the highly paid CEOS when the industry leading contracts were signed, then hating them and blaming them for the failure when the economy stuttered.

Well, the economy has stuttered, and it's time to blame the industry leading contract for what's happened, not bad management.

The cost needs to be brought into line, and this ain't it folks... It's not enough of an effort by the union.

Feel free to spin this any way that makes you feel good. If a person takes an early out that is VOLUNTARY, then that is not a job loss. It was VOLUNTARY, you know, acting on one's own free will?

Notice that he is on a solo quest of disinformation. At least in '04 management had a TEAM of misinformation peddlers.

I guess they learned their lesson and pared back the payroll!

If he doesn't work for netjets, what exactly is the point of all this effort he is putting into his posts? why does he care what goes on at netjets? It seems he's just like every other Republican left out there; always bashing the opposing view instead of rallying his own, and always emphasizing his hatred of someone else's beliefs instead championing his.

I don't always agree with you netjet guys but, it does none of us any good battle each other. We don't have a union, I wonder why he doesn't speak of how awesome we are for not having one? Anyway, I'm tired and have already put more thought into this than my brain normally allows. Have a good one guys.

that's kinda the whole question....I dont work at FLEX and yet I dont post stuff about their company.....weird huh?
 
It is interesting that in some minds, the union is the root of all problems at NJA - yet the lack of union in other places certainly hasn't guaranteed success, or at the very least no one has pointed out how no union at flex or shares has allowed them to prosper. Most would consider NJA the fractional leader in market share and size. I'm sure the number of applicants and the explosion in growth it experienced had absolutely nothing to do with the Union or the CBA.....
