According to Ed Bular's Crewmail I just read......

Let the games begin....

Back to updating my resume and studying for my Wal-Mart greeter interview.....

One small thing goes the West's way, watch the "professionals" start to cry. Are the CIRP teams on standby?

I seem to recall you Easties were on the verge of liquidation a few years ago. No jobs. Nada. And now a callsign change is a big deal? I'd say you benefitted quite handsomely from the situation given your extremely dire circumstances at the time.

That's seriously lame.

Yes, we are all better off now that we are to have a cutsie little regional name for a call sign instead of the name of the airline like the other legacy carriers. It is very fitting for what we have become.

Now we can fit in with Waterski and Brickyard. I am so proud

Are you crazy. usair....your whole route structure could fit into the state of Wyoming....oh sorry I forgot about the handful of little 20 year-old 767-200's in your widebody "fleet"....usair was nothing but Waterski on steroids.

My apologies to the waterski folks on here.

Are you kidding me..man. There are thousands of us out here looking ifor work wishing we had a call sign to use... get a clue dude and be very very thankful for the things you have..

I will be joining you very shortly, and the callsign is still amateur hour.

That is exactly my point, we deserve the new call sign for your reasons. So nice try at an insult

Things that make you go Hmmmmmmm......

I heard that USAPA was going to sue mgt over the useage of the "cactus" callsign, anyone willing to bet they will win this lawsuit?

You guys still don't understand that your old USAir from 1985 is dead and gone?

If that's the case, then why didn't good 'ole Doogie just repaint the entire fleet with the America West colors instead? This is just one more thing done intentionally to aggravate the "Easties".

Yeh, AWA bought the ailing USAir. Yeh, AWA kept the USAir name for customer recognition reasons. That's all the consumer sees. There's a lot more wrong with this whole situation than what the consumer sees. The "merger" of seniority lists (if you want to call it that) was one of the big ones. How anyone at AWA can say that they rightfully have more seniority than most USAir pilots just baffles me.

Y'all remind me of my kids sometimes instead of all growing up and doing the right thing if you were in someone else's shoes. Both sides (AWA especially) need to do what needs to be done for the company to financially survive instead of constantly wondering what they can do to the other side just to piss them off again.

Stephen Wolf sucked as CEO. Just like Carty did and Tilton does now (I know, totally different companies, don't go there). Siegel tried to fix it, but the boat had too many big holes in it to patch. Doogie ain't any better than Wolf was. Granted, he doesn't seem to be sucking greenbacks out of the company like Wolf did, but his business decisions haven't made much sense, either. I haven't seen any positive changes there yet. Next month will be 3 years since the merger, and the only real thing that has honestly merged is the aircraft colors. Thank God that his attempt to take over Delta was futile.

I know that a lot of the issues also have to do with the "pride" of the USAir mainline guys. They screwed themselves with scope issues and lack of wholly owned jets. The whole J4J debacle is enough to make you cringe.

It's time to grow up children, or be evicted to the playground. Make a choice.

In that case, maybe some other ideas:

theif
liar
coward
backstabber
cry baby

Thats what USAir has become...

I (a westie) don't want to use the cactus call sign for combined ops. It should be retired before the easties have time to destroy that as well.

Here we go again. We never said it Nic said it. We tried to negotiate. You guys would not have it. So, now we have the Nic.

Too late. The East reached "evicted from the playground" status months ago. If there was any rational basis for "USAir pride" it would be evident in the actions of their pilots today.

Oh, we wont give in,
Well keep living in the past.

Cactus? Well it looks like something finally went well for the West...

What a weird call sign.

So the West won a battle after already losing the war?

So once again the easties lost again when their claims were put to the test. Not safe? Uh huh.

Call out the scab version of the critical incident committee.

You mean like Speedbird?

No dog in this fight, but will be listening to a lot of choking on the radio soon....

I too haven't a dog in this fight, but I would say that the US Air guys got screwed. I would also say that they have little control over that...the sooner they accept it and move on, the happier they will be. Let it go...

I am not trying to be unsympathetic, just realistic. It is just a job...if you must get a new one to support your family as a result of the merger, then do it. Accept it and move on...you'll feel better in the long run. You gain nothing by holding a grudge...except high blood pressure and an ulcer from the alcoholism.

Catus call sign

For months now I have read how the west has been screwed and how they saved the east and how they should be senior to every one of the the thirty year on down pilots on the east and now they say they now have their stupid little call sign, but you know what, it doesn't matter any more.

I had to see AWA suise make a fool of herself and the stipid F/O in PHX make a fool of himself when he told L. Hogg he hated them, but it just doesn't matter any more.

I am a 19 year F/O at USAir and I was told I would be a Capt in five years and that was in 1989. but that doesn't matter any more.

What matters is life and family and last week I lost my best Friend and Father in an auto accident. So you see all of you BABIES out in the west and east can just GO and GET OVER IT.

Look for the east to activate the S cab C ritical I ncident R esponse T eam, or SCIRT committee in the near future.

Also, they will probably file a federal rico lawsuit naming Parker, Bular, Hog, and others within the company, and probably some Faa officials, as defendants.

One thing is certain, these Scirt wearing crybabies out won't just accept it.

Its a safety issue, its a safety issue dammit. Ah ha ha ha ha. Sure it is dumbass.

First of all, I'm truly sorry for your loss. Our families ARE the most important thing.

I was also told I'd upgrade at TWA in 5 years. Been furloughed now for 6.

I was told I'd upgrade at AWA in 5 years. That was 4 years ago. Now I'm being notified of my impending furlough.

Nobody at AWA wants to put the US pilots at the bottom of the list. If you think that's what the Nicolau list is about, you need to read it. I think there is a big misunderstanding about what George did, and how it affects everyone. If you guys took the time to read it and think about the rationale, you'd probably be able to move ahead.

Your company had some tough times. That sucks. Some of us breeze through this career spending the whole time in the left seat, while others go from job to job, always behind the eight-ball. That's just how it is. At the end of the day, though, you either have your integrity intact or you don't.
