First of all, I'm truly sorry for your loss. Our families ARE the most important thing.

I was also told I'd upgrade at TWA in 5 years. Been furloughed now for 6.

I was told I'd upgrade at AWA in 5 years. That was 4 years ago. Now I'm being notified of my impending furlough.

Nobody at AWA wants to put the US pilots at the bottom of the list. If you think that's what the Nicolau list is about, you need to read it. I think there is a big misunderstanding about what George did, and how it affects everyone. If you guys took the time to read it and think about the rationale, you'd probably be able to move ahead.

Your company had some tough times. That sucks. Some of us breeze through this career spending the whole time in the left seat, while others go from job to job, always behind the eight-ball. That's just how it is. At the end of the day, though, you either have your integrity intact or you don't.

That's nice of you to put it that way, but you're dealing with people that have no integrity or grasp of reality. I'm sorry I'm no longer flying so I can't say this in person. "Say CACTUS you stupid BEEEAAAAAACHEESSS!"

Are you guys still going around about seniority? Just let it go and move on. Unless you're at FedEx, UPS, or Southwest it's a good time to consider leaving aviation. Or you can stay in and keep providing me entertainment every few weeks.

Yes, we are all better off now that we are to have a cutsie little regional name for a call sign instead of the name of the airline like the other legacy carriers. It is very fitting for what we have become.

Now we can fit in with Waterski and Brickyard. I am so proud

Hey Junior, Have you ever heard of Pan Am? They had a "cutsie" call-sign and they were a major. My my, your misplaced arrogance is amusing.

I only say "junior" because it takes a teenage mentality to come up with such a stupid post.

Geeeezus H. Keeryst on a popsicle stick!

It is just a callsign!

Who gives a sh*t?

Folks who complain about a "regional" callsign are displaying less maturity than a lot of new hire regional pilots I fly with. Agian, who really cares?

Most USair pilots do not care about the call sign. I would have preferred the USAIR one like most Eastholes, but it really does not matter. Cactus, Cactus Cactus.
It will take a trip or two. Good time to win beers.

Thats the spirit man. I new you could do it.

Once upon a time I argued loudly to keep the Cactus call sign as a reminder that underneath the peeling USAir paintjob, this company is America West. However, the events that have occured over the past two years have soured me what this company has become. Now, I would much rather let the Cactus call sign die with a little dignity. I'd rather bite the bullet and spit out "U S Air's xxxx" then have some of the integrity lacking Easthole using the call sign. Let them pound their fists and rally around the idea that the West pilots will never be "real" USAir pilots. I, and many on the West, feel quite the opposite. They will never be real Cactus pilots.

Sure, Spin baby Spin!!!!! Typical Eastinfection.

I would just like to say:

SHUT THE F UP ALREADY!

Us Air sucks because managmenet has run that once proud airline into the ground.

United sucks also. I say its a tie between who sucks worse. United vs US Air

America West pilots I've met were always a class act.

You Eastholes need to learn some manners. If you hate your job that much, Fing quit!

Just shut up about it.

Republic is the only class act company worth flying on in US Airway colors. Great planes and friendly pilots who always help me out. I'd look out for them to emerge...IMHO

Transtates....:erm:

How bout "tool" for your call sign. All the east guys are tools. You guys are gonna miss saying "US ERRORS 123". Maybe you can use your Mil call sign - Mavrick or is it Iceman?

How about the call sign "METAMUCIL" My grandfather loves the stuff and since he's a bit younger than most East First Officers...well, it's a natural match!

Maybe they'll be able to take a dump between Ithaca NY turns now as well. WIN/WIN.

It's Cactus....Bitch.

You are an idiot.

Instead of just sticking with US Airways, now you go and insult a bunch of other professionals who have no dog in this fight. The US Airways 'system' as you call it is loaded with other companies... Piedmont, PSA, Air Wisconsin... Hell, there are even a bunch of Colgan guys that I would consider to be class acts (Thanks for the rides, guys). You may not like the fact that these companies don't have shiny new metal or the way they do business, but that is no reason whatsoever to go and lump those pilots in with the Hatfields and McCoys at US Airways.

Do me a favor, if you ever board a Piedmont dash looking for a ride, please identify yourself as the writer of your moronic post. I want to see what a real "class act" you are yourself.

My perspective from the outside looking in is that they should change it to something completely different such as "Heritage". Anything that might actually not tick off one group or the other. However, a call sign won't fix you broken planes, poor customer service, eternally delayed flights, missing bags or even get you a new contract. No, only management can do that. The problem is there does not seem to be anyone in your management that can accomplish anything without angering someone. Great example is the fact you guys are number one on time airline. That is great but has been at the expence of leaving hundreds of passengers behind a day because of unrealistic connection times coupled with the fact that they are now closing the door 10 minutes early. How about the fact that three years after the so called merger there still has not been one. Yes, you all have the same call sign, paint job, and shinny new uniforms and even the same certificate from the FAA to prove it but there still has been no merger. I am sorry to those that are worried about the call sign but I think there are more telling things to worry about.
Take care all

If I ever wanted to see a One-WalMart town, I would just buy a ticket on your prop-trash airline.

Your wasting your time dealing with that boy wonder.

I think the "real" cactus guys should sign in with "papa" on the end so we can tell the difference!

Gup :D

Easy there big fella, let us not get carried away. We have to spend our next 91 mil cancelling a/c orders. We have no money.
Umm ... a United chapter 11 would be exactly what Dugweiser Parker wants to make a merger happen. I'm not wishing for it but it could happen.

But it IS a SUPER WAL-MART, fag.

So why is it that so many of the hacks that failed PDT training (spectacularly- couldn't avoid the ground at any cost) ran to RAH and passed there?

I'd put any Beech, Dash, JetPig, SAAB, Brakillia and especially Metroliner drivers ahead of any push button specialist/MCDU manager as far as SnR pilot skills...

I've met a LOT of 'class acts' from every airline in the system. There was no correlation between paint sheen and "dewsh" factor.

That's right. "Eagles-Poo" seems to have forgotten about the recently enacted legislation calling for binding arbitration when 2 different "unions" represent the same class and craft of employee.
