What a sad, sad life you must have. Even a discussion of a kid's holiday has to be tainted with airline politics.

I bet your house is a ball at the holidays.

I was thinking the exact same thing... unbelieveable... surprised he didn't mention Pay-For-Training and RJDC also!

Some people just don't know when to give it a rest...

my kids did well

I took my kids around last night and they did very well. We were out for about 1 hour and they came home a full plastic pumpkin each( the ones that are about 10 inches across). I thought my daughters best friend who took a pillow case with him was being a little excessive. Wow was I wrong. Last year they didn’t get half that much and were probably out longer. They only wanted to stop because it was too hot (freakin 85 degrees in FLL at 8PM and my oldest was in a fur costume) and the pumpkins were too heavy.

Hey LR25,
you going to that airshow at NAS on Saturday? I'm driving down from Athens, Georgia to see it. Blue Angels will be there.

I'll be there, look for me with my tan photogs vest ;) (I'll be one of the many ones there though). I just checked the directions I know one of the preformers, I helped him at Sun N Fun, maybe I can get Flightline access? hehe

Now as far as trick or treaters, yeah here in Daytona there was not a sole that knocked on my door in my apartment complex, I hear there was a far number at the colleges trick or treat thing (they invite the locals).

I remembered when I was a kid, making a Navy Uniform (Top Gun  ), among other uniforms, and coming back to drop off pillow cases full of candy. Then there was the gorge the first night the next morning your sick of candy, even though you have quite a pile left.

I think everyone's trick-or-treaters must have come to my house. I can honestly say I've never seen so many. I'd guess somewhere around 200 (I know my wife said just about every one of her 60 5th graders showed up at our door).....

I always squirrell away some Reece's Cups for myself before I start passing candy out. Thank God pilots arent tested for those things.
I was very disappointed this year that the kids only got one "Bit 'O Honey"...I love those things.

orl

Man this was the lamest holloween ever , iahd put up all this candy, only to have a few knocks at the door.............

the kids would come up in their get ups , give them candy and then ask if their parents wanted any,

not even one cheer leader came to the door this year the best looking came up to the door ten put on her mask,,,,,,,,,,,ugh what a let down this year was.

So what awas going on in Atlanta this , nothing in Orlando.

the grass is always greener....

Where did all the kids go????., find out what neighborhoods the DAL, UA, AA, UPS captains live., parents aren't stupid, they take taking their kids to the higher income neighborhoods (not saying the previous posters live in tin sheds or anything). Less traffic, more trust worthy homeowners, and of course better candy. I never heard of parents willing to haul their kids 15-20 miles just to find the "rich 'hoods", until I met a guy in college who grew up in the projects and he explained what Halloween was like in his neck of the woods.

I think I would stay away from the captains' homes since they are the ones that give out the chocolates the say "Thank you for Choosing Marriott"........i jest

I worked in the Emergency Department (pays the rent) last night and we only had about a dozen. What's with this giant sponge dude called Bob? We had 3 or 4 dressed up like the sponge guy. Am I getting old or something? I think I swiped all of the Nerds from the bowl before the first little vandal even arrived. NEVER drink a warm Diet Coke with vast quantities of Nerds. I ended up slurping Mylanta the rest of the night.

Halloween...

Our neighboorhood is pretty new, the circle I live in had their second annual Halloween parade, followed by a quick picnic, then everybody runs home to get ready for the Trick or Treaters. Really a good time, and great neighborhood.

It's funny, we kept telling kids that they could take what they could grab with one hand...almost all of them instead would take only about one item, maybe two. Considering all we've heard about rude, greedy kids, it was nice to see the majority (actually almost all) were polite, said 'Thank you', etc... still gives me hope for the future! At least in Texas...

Ended up bringing the excess to the airport cargo workers, since I was jumping out that night to go to work...

Fly safe!

PS Dieterly...lighten up man!

Dude, Spongebob Squarepants is the man! He's a funny cartoon...if you have little ones (or in my case, a kindergarten teacher for a wife) you KNOW Spongebob.

Also, Diet Coke goes with everything. It's liquid crack. It's the nectar of life.

You may KNOW SB, but can you sing the entire song?

OK guys, I just watched SpongeBob on the dish. I think my cat liked it too. I have no younguns so I guess I've been out of the loop or something. As for Diet Coke, I when I get off of my bicycle I drink a Diet Coke no matter how hot it is. Last time a rode the 103 mile Assault on Mt Mitchell all I could think of was how bad I wanted my DC fix that was waiting for me at the top of the mountain. I must say though that the Nerds created some chemical reaction that mimics hot magma in the upper digestive tract. Maybe I'm just getting old. I'll be 35 soon. Ouch! It hurts to think about it. Thanks for enlightening me about Mr. Squarepants.

Y'all keep it level
