Don't forget the XL gets crossover premium which is 300/month for captains and 225 for FOs. If I was an FO I take the first XL bid I could get and chill there for 2 years before hoping a bigger a/c opens up. This is assuming I was hired within 2 years. FOs over 2 years old are getting near the point where they will be awarded a bigger a/c within 2 years. Bypass FOs are going to have to take the chance that they'll get captain in their a/c before the XL, but there is no way around that unless you want to lose bypass.

The pay is spelled out in the contract, if hired in June 2004, awarded captain in July '06, pay is 3rd year reserve captain pay, $84,560.
Did some math, 10 hours of overtime a month, seems realistic, $7,000 more, up to 92K, work 4 holidays and get 2400 more, up to $94,400., that's without any extended days.

$10,000. a month a year from now when those 5 hit 3 years with NJA was a little optimistic, base pay will be $96,000., only comes out to $107,000. a year, would only be $8,916. a month using the 10 hours a month overtime and 4 holidays.

Sorry, I went back and re-read what you originally wrote. I see now what you were trying to say (it was late, sorry!). Still not likely that a 4th-yr PIC will make $120k, but it could happen, especially in the X.

Yeah, but you pay the price for it in the X....

Oh, my fellow brethren and co-worker comso!! I totally agree. These netjet guys think the fbo lounges belong to them. Heaven forbid you interrupt a lounge full of yellow ties. Hopalong, you sound like a real "winner".

Art,
Next time I'm in a FBO lounge after flying several legs and a Flex guy walks into the lounge, I will jump up and offer him my seat, just in case it is you. Does that work??

The lounge, a given seat in particular, belongs to the first ass to sit in it, until such time as it needs to get up. Quit crying.

I don't know what these guys are whining about. Every tour I am on I never see any Flexjet pilots flying or around the fbos. I see their airplanes parked on the ramp all over the place but nobody seems to be flying them.

Very true, I haven't even seen a Flex aircraft in a couple of tours....

So true, that's why I'm not in the X. ;)
Just did my last X trip yesterday. I never spend much time inside FBO's. Cerainly not enough to actually sit down.

Now, Hopefully in the future I will be able to... but will gladly offer my seat to a tired Flex pilot. Especially once they are wearing IBT1108 union pins.

You and your buddy cosmotheass sond like real schmucks. You sound
jealous and bitter of NJA guys. Why don't you and your buddy cosmo
spoon tonight after a long day of standing around waiting for us yellow ties
to get up and give you a seat.

hopalong,

Great suggestion. Spooning can be quite refreshing! I dont think art is jealous, I think he makes a valid point of the mentality of your group. Other than that, your great. want to join us tonight? We'll make a NJA sandwich.

I would worry less about the mentality of the NJA pilot group, and more about your own issues, which from reading your posts I believe are many...
