Hi!

I read that their Home Basing situation is 17/15. It's a long time on, but then a long time off. My CEO said it was OK. I could be on a 6/4 schedule at work, but she said it was not enough days off in a row.

I'm at about 19% over my base for this year but I do take extended days when I can get them. Many guys would rather be at home. I think the consensus is that you will make more money at a major but you cant even come close to our QOL with less than 20 years seniority at mainline (and that QOL starts at day one with us).

That's what we have today. As of January 1, several more bases are opening up where you'll be able to hold our new 8/6 schedule. I don't know all of the cities, but there are about 10 more...including Denver, Chicago, Atlanta, Miami and Orlando. There hasn't been much talk about our new pay package on here because it's still in the final stages of refinement. All the $$$ values are established, it's some of the other details that we're working out. Stay tuned.

But i can say this...As of January 1, 2008, XOJet is going to an 8 on 6 off schedule with either Tuesday or Thursday starts. If you want the double schedule, that'll be 15 on 13 off.

I'll pass on more of the details when the package is finalized.

Just want to clarify...IF the TA goes through

When you start on "day 1" you are paid at the "18-day Hard" rate or $69,188. Is that correct? (for the duration of training)

Also is there any provision in the TA for COLA adjustments?

And i've learned not to assume anything in this business but...I presume that there is a rate for 2,3,4,6,7,8,9...etc.? Is it pretty linear from year 1 - 5 or is there a big jump from year 1 to year 2 like the airlines do.

No.

It's pretty linear, which is fine with me. There's a little bit of a jump from year two to three. Here are the first four years, to give you an idea:

Are there yearly pay increases built into the contract (to adjust for inflation)? Your purchasing power doesn't look like it improves except for the year 2-3 bump and then obviously when you move to the left seat.

The payscale only adjusts for inflation after 5.5 years if the company decides to exercise the extension option (along with the other things that go with it).

Yes and yes.

It covers everyone hired after the 2005 contract, and that would include someone hired tomorrow.

The only grandfathering involves those hired prior to the 2005 CBA and their Home Base Airports.

One thing to consider is who you are flying around? At the Frac's you are flying the RICHEST People in the world around. The RICHEST people in the world do not get affected by blips in the economy. Where as the middle and working class are flying on airlines. If the middle/working guy is feeling the pinch then the airline are too. That is one factor when considering where to go. Flying for a mainline carrier over 30 years you will most likely make more, but you will have interuption with your pay check. Its all about job security. Remember the RICH are getting RICHER. Just food for thought.

Biggest moronic statement I have seen on here yet. There are many, many of your owners who ARE susceptible to a significant downturn in the world wide econony. Many Ultra owners who fly for business, for example, and will throttle way back on fractional flying if business needs dictate. To say that this demographic is immune from the world economy, fuel prices, etc is ignorant.
Sounds like UAL and DAL union leaders in 2001.
