I have some buddies furloughed at American and they are saying that they are expecting a pretty hefty pay raise once contract negotiations end (they are also expecting to have to strike to get this)...

They didn't use the phrase "kick a$$ pay" did they?

Expecting and getting are two different things. Does APA have it in them? Who knows.

I will be a NJA lifer if I have my way.

Hi!

The top jobs now are basically FedEx/UPS. If you are looking non-PAX, the number 3 career job will be Atlas/Polar. You won't have to commute for them.

There are other non-commuting jobs, such as World/Gemini/XO Jet, and others.

You can, of course, live in a base and not have to commute.

Good luck!

PS-I am looking at NetJets. I'll have to drive 2 hours to commute, but on 7/7 it's only twice a month, and 2 hours of interstate driving isn't bad for me.

I thought XO Jet had 4 domiciles... Sacramento, Phoenix, SoCal and North East coast? Do you know something different?

Hi!

I read that their Home Basing situation is 17/15. It's a long time on, but then a long time off. My CEO said it was OK. I could be on a 6/4 schedule at work, but she said it was not enough days off in a row.

I'm at about 19% over my base for this year but I do take extended days when I can get them. Many guys would rather be at home. I think the consensus is that you will make more money at a major but you cant even come close to our QOL with less than 20 years seniority at mainline (and that QOL starts at day one with us).

That's what we have today. As of January 1, several more bases are opening up where you'll be able to hold our new 8/6 schedule. I don't know all of the cities, but there are about 10 more...including Denver, Chicago, Atlanta, Miami and Orlando. There hasn't been much talk about our new pay package on here because it's still in the final stages of refinement. All the $$$ values are established, it's some of the other details that we're working out. Stay tuned.

But i can say this...As of January 1, 2008, XOJet is going to an 8 on 6 off schedule with either Tuesday or Thursday starts. If you want the double schedule, that'll be 15 on 13 off.

I'll pass on more of the details when the package is finalized.

A rising tide raises all boats!

Since only the new 7&7 payscale was posted, I'll post the rest. The 7&7 payscale is the lowest of the three schedules. I'll post year 1, year 5, and year 10.
