That's great and all but how long for upgrade, i hear that captains there rarely move on to other jobs and basically never leave.

Yep. Listen to the crowd here talk about how how the place sucks, then in the next breath say that new hires will never upgrade because nobody ever leaves.

Funny stuff. Less than a dozen let go out of 3000 and it's a management purge. The reasons for termination were valid. If you're being told they weren't, you're being lied to.

So NJ states they are hiring and then receives 1000 apps. How does anything in that statement mean that NJ is scraping the bottom of the barrel?

I thought most pilots knew major carriers carry around 12,000 apps on file and would see the messily 1,000 number as a laughable number. Especially in a company prepared press release. Sorry I needed to explain it.

They were valid reasons to face discipline. None of them rose to the level of termination.

They fired more people in the last year than in the previous 10 years, but it's all normal?

I don't think it's supposed to be a "purge". But they are definitely using terminations to intimidate and send a message as opposed to valid discipline.

So you mean NJ only receiving 1000 apps in a couple weeks is a laughable number. I misunderstood. Maybe they would have more applicants had the website not crashed due to website traffic. Maybe many applicants aren't interested in a place that sucks so bad that nobody leaves and upgrades are 20 years away.

And aren't some of them already back on the property? What level constitutes termination? Calling off sick and not being sick? Stealing? A member with a long history of being a dooshbag misses an airline just to make a point? (This last one had a dui on duty years ago, urinated on an aircraft on camera, and manned an owner). Those sitting on his right wanted nothing to do with him and neither did anyone on the other end of the phone. Was he worthy?

I was thinking that when attrition goes from 0ne or two a month to about a dozen a month, something is wrong that so many are leaving. I see we have a new company sponsor on board. Welcome some guy.
