Several more years??? I hope not!!! You think the Do-jet is a red headed step child now...just wait till we get those Buses...I'll be living in the doghouse fighting for scaps with Fido.

We need to get in that CRJ and get a pay raise. Things can't keep going the way they are...ACA needs to focus on "I".

CHQ will most likely to get the new jets on bid w/ Delta. When you see those CHQ embrears in CVG it will be the beginning of the end.

If we keep the DoJet, that's 300 more pilots than before - that means 150 more captains - all of which make more than the CRJ pay freeze I'm getting now. Just as important as the pay and PIC time are the Delta PPR card benefits, without which it would be very difficult to get to work - Delta rules the South.

Regardless of what I wish for, follow the money and you will get the answer. I believe that Delta wants to maintain the portfolio concept and ACA is a strong, proven carrier. Some will argue that Independence is a competitor to Delta but in reality Independence is fighting USAir, United, JetBlue, and AirTran - all bigger enemies of Delta than ACA. (The concept of: "The enemy of my enemy is my friend...") Also, Delta doesn't want to incur any further losses when it doesn't have to. Therefore, I think you will see Delta, Dalpa, and ACA maintain the status quo in regards to the Dorniers.

I agree 46,

I believe the FRJ will stay with ACA/Indy in Delta colors for a long time. With the exception of the recent engine issues, the aircraft has performed much better in recent months, passengers like the plane and the service, and the crews do a great service to Delta, esp the FAs. I don't see how DAL can justify to its shareholders buying off the leases on 33 a/c with engine issues just to appease its pilots. Shareholders (as we've seen with recent events) don't care about the relationship between mgmt and union, they just care about making a buck.

FDJ2,

I don't know man, I don't know about that one. Maybe...I haven't heard anything close to that in the ATL lounge. That would be interesting.....

General, I haven't heard anything similar either, but I'm not sure if it is beyond the realm of plausibility. It would be interesting to see why people think it is not plausible.

FDJ2,

I just don't think we have the cash right now to buy much of anything substantial. I think they are trying to make sure we negotiate our way out of the debt problem safely etc.....We could probably buy smaller things, like some used airplanes etc with our cash on hand, but nothing major. But, I like the way you think---don't go to management and fall over to the dark side on me!

Bye Bye--General Lee;)

Try this one on.....I know this has been speculated by Comair:

Comair takes over the FRJs and the FRJ flying - the FRJs keep the Delta colors, and leave ACA for Comair.

I think it's only a matter of time before someone amalgamates. Of course many carriers were built by the buy out of others. I'm sure in this next up-swing it wil happen. The question remains who will buy who, what. Interesting times indeed.

Maybe not to replace ACA but to supplement the fact that we have 4 airframes AOG for engines since just after Christmas with no ETA on replacements. 8 engines in the hole, no spares, no deliveries on the horizon. PW has dropped the ball, fallen down, and isn't getting up.
I just ran that through freetranslation.com with no luck. How 'bout in English next time.

We have 4 airplanes down awaiting engines and Pratt and Whitney has been unable to keep up.

In the time span over which our 87 CRJ's have had 24 engines replaced, our 33 Dorniers have had 250 - that's correct 250 - engine changes.

Since the Pratt and Whitney engine contract does not go with the Dorniers if they are transferred to another carrier, you can see why I expect Delta and DALPA to maintain the status quo with ACA despite us getting the AirBus. (Does anybody know what the plural for AirBus is?)

I'm not so convinced...Delta has more lawyers than we have...ANY contract can be broken, breached and/or violated.
