CA Dad,
Don't take it so hard. Remember you're talking to NJA pilots, not airline pilots. We just got a raise, etc and when one hears "benefit all of us" so soon after something like the IBB, expectations are bigger than sim bays and aircraft equipment that will not be implemeted for at best, 3 yrs. Take it easy...hear the waves, hear the birdies...

'Terry, that's an interesting insight. I hadn't thought of the way that IBB would have influenced the pilots' perception about changes that followed soon after. I think you're definitely on to something. It probably would have been viewed differently, at least somewhat, had there not been so much personal, immediate-impact good news just delivered. NJW

I am sorry you're not excited about the 25 bay, world class, training facility or the new A/C, or the new interiors with all the toys, or the step program for captains, or the Electronic Flight Bags, or any of the other stuff that is coming. That is sad for you. I came from a far less prosperous company, where any one of these would be massive and incredibly good news. If you are so jaded to see just how good things are, compared to the rest of the industry, or any other industry for that matter,... well that is just sad.

While it all sounds very exciting I take it with a grain of salt. These ideas that all seem new and exciting, have all been made and pitched in the past, with the same oooh's and aaaah's that we've come to see from hanger meetings.

All the stuff mentioned has been "worked on" in the past. As the executive teams cycle through those same "old" ideas become "new". Also most of these takes years to implement. Take a look at the EFB's in the G's. Hmmm its not overnight? Shocking.

Its good to see a mission statement, and people excited, but this all won't happen tomorrow and the percentages of them following through are limited. But hey we're excited right.....

As long as other issues are not ignored..............

Expectations are nothing but preconceived resentments.

My post was subjective and from my point of view. It was everyone else that mad it into something bigger than life. All I did was to plant a small seed.

The 11,000 plus viewings has proven to me that there are a whole bunch of folks eager to watch NJA blow the roof off the joint. That pleases me to no end.:)

I did my best to show how everyone will benefit. I hope you all are happy. Really I do.

Trust me I am far from hurt. I am quite the opposite. The eager and passionate posts confirm that our brothers and sisters are alive and well.

keep the dirty side down.:D

You'd think they would have taken as much time to pick them out as they've taken to get them to the fleet. If they had, maybe they would have picked one......THAT WORKS! It makes a great wheel chock though.......

But you guys (450's550's) are lucky to have that fancy cockpit stuff. You can just use them as a tray for your catering. :)

Not this week amigo. Had a 550 with corrupted and MEL'd chart D-Base. Had to use the doorstop for four days. Good thing it was VFR and memorized airports every day.
