I just found out they plan to recall "small groups" of people at a time. They did not give a quantitative number. I wish our union would pin them down for a more specific number. It's so frustrating for you all. I am going to recurrent next week and will get more info. I will pm you my phone number.

I'd imagine the amount they recall is largely depending on the number of folks available to do indoc and availability of sim time...

Looks like February is the new day to look in the mail.

Some numbers would be great......

Less than a lot, a handful - give or take, more than a couple, solve for "X" then X - 1...

:(

All this is great news for some guys who got royally screwed. If it wasn't for seniority, it coulda been any of ya. DS didn't get to furlough "the right people" as he did in non-bargaining depts.

But seriously, if the info was on a company email, don't discuss here. We all signed the policy. They don't send us anything they think the world doesn't already know about. What they send us is what they don't want us to talk about.

Has anyone violated the rules? Dunno.... I have all that junk set on auto delete.

But just don't set your company email on auto-forward.....

You really believe they send you stuff thinking it won't get out into the public? They send you what they don't care about, or what they want to get out.... They know full well it'll end up either on a msg board, or discussed with non employees in an FBO

You're all wrong. What they send us is what they want us to discuss. Like when another company's plane has an accident. They never tell us what went wrong with one of our own.
If it's super secret info, we'll read about it somewhere else; not in a communication from the company. ;)

Agree 100%...

Throw a bone out to the pilots, see what sticks, and then watch how it unfolds.. In this case they say some recalls, give no indication of how many, don't tell the Union how many, and then watch as people go back and forth how the Union doesn't know anything etc etc.. At the same time hope to get some of the recalls on managements side.

Great news! Probably too early to speculate, but are there certain fleets that are particularly light on pilots where returning pilots would likely be allocated? Encore? Phenom? XLS? I suppose sim availability might play a role too.

Your divining rods are pretty good johnsonrod! Word on the street is XL, Encore, Sovereign, and Phenoms. In no particular order, just where they are needed the most.

This is coming from a very good source. ;)

Company is also bringing 8 XL's back from Europe this summer, so it's entirely possible they'll staff those with recalled pilots.

My guess is EVERYBODY on the list will get a letter asking their intentions: accept recall, defer recall, or resign seniority. There will be some that don't receive the letter or don't respond within the required 7 days and are immediately terminated. That will give the company some idea of what they're dealing with. Then they'll send out letters to the first batch for training dates (in March if the recurrent brief was accurate).

Training spots will be the limiting factor. I just got back from recurrent and FSI is starting to lose instructors going back to flying jobs across all the learning centers. It takes the better part of a year to get an instructor fully up to speed.

Actual number of recalls? All who want to come back, eventually. Barring another economic meltdown, I'm starting to think we'll be hiring off the street by the 4th quarter of 2015.

The best part will be watching some folks come back, get a new type, get current with a couple of hundred hours, and then blow this popsicle stand for a better job. Jordy will be standing in the hall looking like the kid who just had his ice cream taken away. It will be epic...

Now you're just talking crazy. That would make too much dam(n) sense and I don't see it coming outta the Puzzle Palace.

Anyone play poker at the Hollywood Casino in the Columbus area?

Don't think it will happen that way since a recall letter has to provide a training date. They couldn't take the chance off all people taking the recall and then having to pay up. 4 years ago I really hoped I would be able to tell Netjets to kiss off because I found something better but myself and a lot of others would gladly come back to Netjets. Sure I will have my apps in at the majors along with the other 10000 well qualified applicants.
