H25b, I do believe that it's fair to say that about HALF of the pilots have been at NJA for less than 5 years. Because of its hiring boom, it may well be the exception to your theory that ..." The junior guys are the ones that are thrown in front of the train." When you consider that 82% of them voted down an offer of $69K at year 5, you will better understand why those posting here are not worried. StrongUnion has many junior pilots in leadership positions; my husband is a good example. The membership won't be throwing those guys under the train because they're the ones driving the train and stoking the engines...
If you need more proof, look at the success of the bypass pay bid where senior pilots with held their bids and got 116 FOs bumped up to Captain's pay. My husband was one of those FO's and will NOT vote to leave the others on wages that qualify for govt assistance! The fallacy with your theory, as far as NJ is concerned, is that it assumes that the senior pilots are paid properly. That is NOT the case.
Now I'll direct you to Hawkered's post---
"No, not anymore. Everybody gets taken care of, or we walk! This is not some Teamster's joke: this is the most organized campaign that aviation outside of the major airlines has ever seen!
Believe me, I thought this Strong Union thing was not going to be any better than the "Fab Five", when it first got started, but I was wrong!!"

What an excellent testimony to the level of solidarity we have achieved!
Hawkered was no push over; he took a lot of convincing! The NJ pilots will continue what they started at Omaha--speaking with ONE voice and delivering ONE message. A fair wage for everyone is part of that message.
