"...I realized that I really didn't want to spend the next 15 years memorizing every little nit noy detail about every enemy fighter ever built just so I could go yank and bank around a couple of times a month."

Griz,

Very apt description of the life of a fighter pilot. Lots of guys don't realize that. Had I known how much time I was going to spend in the vault studying and how little time I'd be flying, I'd have thought twice. But off I went to yank and bank. When it was all over, I had to explain why I had so few hours at my interviews.

But here we all are.

gunfyter,

Ouch. Now that SAT resort may be deluged by FO aps.

Cmon guys, This won't get anything done.

I missed the military flying for sure, and the people.
So, I went back into the reserves.
Now I'm activated, and flying in Iraq.
Now I miss the catering and the Hilton, and at least I got to see my family half the time, and nobody was trying to kill me.
Lets not go down this road, I'm not in the mood. One thing holds true, I met some great people flying in the military, and I've met some great people flying civilian.

Take care, all of you.
