Mesaba Rapes Labor

That is the first thing that the Mesaba MEC should do if confronted. Like I posted earlier, it is more likely that a regional pilot will withdraw his/her services before a major/national. People who make more money have more to lose.

I disagree with you, TinGoose1. The regional guys will stick it out long enough to get out and find a better job. They will complain the whole way, but they won't quit. They still have 25-30 years ahead of them in the BS industry. I suspect XJ not striking after all this bankruptcy BS...90 seaters are on their way!

That "if you give in well grow" carrot is used everywhere. If you believe it, now that's another issue all together. I don't think that people will be willing to go into poverty just to fly a 90 seater. This is all predicated on the fact that Mesaba pilots will be able to sit left seat in those aircraft. If McLain has his way, they will be fuloughed NWA pilots in those seats. You guys have more to lose by giving in to management than you have to gain. Either way, I hope you guys hold strong and test the courts ruling.

Either way, there are several groups further along in the process than Mesaba. Aloha airlines filed with the Bankruptcy court its intent to file an 1113(c) motion on Friday and asked for expetided hearings. If filed the motion at Aloha will be heard initially on Oct. 28th and 31st. Aloha's management is desparate to consumate their relationship with Yucaipa and AAIG, and they need concessions to get it done. The pilots are not onboard yet, and it they may very well be the first to test the legal waters.

NWA may also test the waters before Mesaba.

I'm not trying to hide who I am. Usually people have some respect and don't call out your name on this board. I checked my undies, and they're not in a bunch. I know who people are on this WebBoard, but that doesn't mean I'd call them out.

If I were on the Mesaba MEC, this would be the first thing that would go public. When you put your family on an aircraft, do you want the cheapest or the most qualified? If you don't think the two are connected, your fooling yourself. Don't sell your self short and fly for less than your worth.

But you dont get it. The MEC Chair at Mesaba gets his marching orders from his personal hero - ALPA National president/NWA 747 Captain, Duane Woerthless. Hell, they even look like father and son. If Daddy Duane tells his boy to do something, ole' Tom will do whatever it takes to get it done; even if it means throwing 400 FO's under the bus, or getting half the pilots furloughed.

And believe me, he has every intention of doing whatever it takes to cover his ass and keep his job as an MEC Chair. He has ALPA National aspirations, after all.

I guess that I'm not the only one that sees that our MEC chair's personal career goals have nothing to do with flying for a living. Strictly advancement in ALPA. Nothing like being a politician in the private sector. Same rules as being a public servent, step on anybody to advance your political aspirations. Only difference is the private sector pays better. Anybody remember what Woerth is making this year. Sure pays better than the job he was hired to do at NWA.
