Honestly, SWA buying us was never on my radar.. Nor with any one I've flown with.. It's usually Delta, AK, or possibly a merger with JB because of our NYC codeshare and common fleet types etc...

Many of us stated we think SWA is a good airline. You guys make good money and have many days off etc... However the type of flying, routes or whatever are not for many of us... You seem to understand that, the other SWA guys posting here seem to take that as an attack.. "How could everyone not want to work there?"

Sorry if not everyone thinks SWA is the greatest thing since sliced bread. I prefer overnighting 2 days in Brisbane or Incheon rather than hanging out in the hotel bar in Louisville..

Dude,
The Brown in Louisville has it all over Brisbane man

I get you, but bad example:)

Been a while since I sipped some bourbon in the haunted hotel

first sign of someone getting defensive... the ad hominem attacks begin.

I believe you began the ad hominem attacks with the statement below! I did not attack in return but simply pointed out the inaccuracies of your statement.

The cats' out of the bag on the topic of who's a bottom feeder.... Hawaiian Pilots SET the bar, not lower it (sorta like SWA historically has done until after the 9/11 cuts made it look so good)..

Like I said, Southwest is the ugly girl at the end of the bar after a long night of drinking... only looks good now since the rest of the industry's contracts were gutted .... but we're building those back up now, so you could say "we're sobering up" ..

Ad hominem by definition is a personal attack on a "person" ... I had critical opinions on a company not any of you as individuals. If you took at as a personal attack on you then accept my apologies.

Who cares where you fly or what equipment. At the end of the day it's about payday and retirement. Of course quality of life and manipulating your schedule and picking up trips and dropping trips is pretty sweet. Have never had the opportunities I have now.
Btw flying international is not only easy but very boring. To act like only the heavies have any idea how to do it shows you'alls life on an island and arrogance. I flew in Hawaii for 19 years and know that times will change as will your airline. Embrace it and enjoy what you brag about now cause who knows what the future will bring. Funny thing is it's completely out of the pilots (employees hands). Now go out and enjoy your Families or Ohana and enjoy the day.
Mahalo.

Wow, "who let the Hawiian's out"? I thought you guys were all about hangin loose and stuff. Now you guys are sounding like the General with his SWA bashing and talking about his international layovers. Guess what, none of us have a say if this would ever happen or not. So go catch a wave and relax bro!!!

Yes, you guys do get very defensive. Don't slam Southwest and not expect a retort.
.

Just to be clear, this all started because of some, very frankly, arrogant comments about SWA "buying" Hawaiian. In others words, some of you guys thinks it would be just fine to destroy a great career and replace it with a lessor job. That's the perception and why you are getting slammed in retaliation. Again, nothing personal. The question was also posed about merging with DAL vs SWA.....clearly a DAL merger would create an airline with much greater opportunities that match our flying. SWA and HA would just create a little wannabe legacy with mainland LCC route structure paired up with a relatively small International hub in HNL. Hardly much to aspire too. Plus SWA doesn't "merge" they acquire. Putting us in that perspective is a huge insult.

Which means you know a lot of pilots currently flying for Hawaiian....yet you posted on here that you hope DAL buys us and staples us. That says a lot about your character.

wow... how often do you see anything pop up about hawaiian? on this site no less? everyone on this bizarre website would defend the company they work for... so because we are out on some islands, working for a small company that has been around for over 80 years now, we are not allowed to become a little more vocal in defending ourselves against the masses?
highspeed... you're right... we don't care what equipment others fly because its not what we fly... we care about our company... so if someone starts making these lame ass claims that we are gonna get bought out and stapled(classy by the way), don't be so surprised when we decide to defend ourselves...
i've got a few really good friends that fly for southwest and thank god because otherwise my view of SW would be pretty dim... in fact everyone i've ever met from SW has been pretty cool... why this website brings out your arrogance is beyond me... call us arrogant if you want but it's pride that we have... pride that we are a small company flying to some great places... we are all well aware that things could change tomorrow and that as pilots we have no control but we are gonna continue to enjoy our lifestyle not having to deal with all your mainland BS...
rant over...
ran out of brown water...

arguing with people online is like playing chess with pidgeons... no matter how good you are the bird is going to $h.. on the board and strut around like it won anyway... (perfect definition of FI)
