LED's replacing strobe Flashbulbs?

The Next Gen CRJ's have them..

Why do all the RJ drivers taxi around with the wing root lights instead of the actual nose taxi light? Is it the cool thing to do? Just wondering.....
 
Ummm... because that's where the taxi lights are on a CRJ?

I thought they had a taxi light on the nose as well....

"My bad" if that's not the case!

On the 700 and 900 the nose light doesn't work very well for taxiing

That makes sense then, thanks viper.

Except for all the lighted wing roots I see in the day time, but hey it's getting my attention so I guess that's what is important......:rolleyes:

I don't know about the 700s and 900s, but the -200 had the taxi/recog lights in the wing root. The nose lights are only landing lights.
