LED's replacing strobe Flashbulbs?

The Next Gen CRJ's have them..

Why do all the RJ drivers taxi around with the wing root lights instead of the actual nose taxi light? Is it the cool thing to do? Just wondering.....

TOO FUNNY! Those RJ's suck down the fuel , but they won't be burning out light bulbs at an alarming rate now will they?

Ummm... because that's where the taxi lights are on a CRJ?

I thought they had a taxi light on the nose as well....

On the 700 and 900 the nose light doesn't work very well for taxiing

Except for all the lighted wing roots I see in the day time, but hey it's getting my attention so I guess that's what is important......

I don't know about the 700s and 900s, but the -200 had the taxi/recog lights in the wing root. The nose lights are only landing lights.
