My class on April 15th is all FO's and only 2 of the 12 are currently working at Kalitta. The other 10 are new hires. Only 7 of the 80ish FO's wanted to make the move.
New hires are going into the 400, but word is that it's not upgradeable.

actually 7 out 80ish were over 1 year, they were not letting FO's less than 1 year receive a 400 bid, one FO going to 400 training just passed his 1 year mark.
What do you mean it's not upgradable? If you mean a new hire would have to wait 3-4 years before upgrading to Capt on the 400. Yes, you may be right. The trickle over effect from the senior captains realizing that he 400 isn't such a bad deal won't take long. Then, like any senority list it's just a matter of time...
True. If you read our contract it says that there is an 18 month seat lock. This seems to be flexible based on company need.
I mean if a new hire wants to upgrade, more than likely he or she is going to need to go back to the Classic, work up in that, then bid back a captain seat once he or she has the seniority to hold captain in the 400...which might be quite some time.
You're not likely to see a 400 new hire FO upgrade to the left seat of the 400.
