Trust me, as strong as March was, it certainly won't make up for February's Fiasco-- nor the Bill of Rights!!!

Due to attrition and the resulting short staffing a full flight which is canceled because jetBlue can not crew it will cos tthe jetBlue $156,000.

It is going to be a very expensive summer.

Judging by our loads and my commute.....everyone had a good March.

How many flights have we cancelled because of attrition so far. You really can't answer that because like so many armchair warriors your talking out your ass. If you are going to contribute to this thread at least back up your statement with facts and figures. Do you even work for JetBlue ???

All of the JB A320's have been converted to 150 seats and 3 FA's.

The E190's have been temporarily converted to E145's...;)

I do work for jetBlue I do not worship at the alter of jetBlue like your a$4 kissing self. jetBlue is a good company it is not The Way, The Truth and The Light.

Opps...$150,000. I'm old school.

When we do cancel a flight and if it was B6's fault (i.e. no crew) the PBoR says JB will pay each passenger $1000 in cash.

Watch CrewTrac and everyday we are very close to minus when the opentime window closes.

But hey what do I know...

The $1000 is only if the person is involentarilly bumped off an operating flight because of an overbooking. If the flight is cancelled withen 12 hours, they get a refund.

CANCELLATIONS

All customers whose flight is canceled by JetBlue will, at the customer’s option, receive a full refund or reaccommodation on a future JetBlue flight at no additional charge or fare. If JetBlue cancels a flight within 12 hours of scheduled departure and the cancellation is due to a Controllable Irregularity, JetBlue will also provide the customer with a Voucher valid for future travel on JetBlue in the amount paid by the customer for the roundtrip (or the oneway trip, doubled).

OVERBOOKINGS (As defined in JetBlue’s Contract of Carriage)

Customers who are involuntarily denied boarding shall receive $1,000.

That is good for weather ystems moving though, but not to cover a late sick call and no reserve coverage.

Prick, you still didn't backup your assertions with facts and data. By the way call your mother shes worried about you!!!

"Prick" and "ass" you seem to like the idea of both. I'm thinking your momma is on high doses of Homocyll.

Wrong. The $1000 is for someone bumped off of an overbooked flight that did not want to volunteer for compensation. Since we don't overbook on purpose, this will rarely ever happen. The refund is for flights cancelled within 12 hours of departure that were under our control like for lack of crew or mx. If a weather system causes cancellations and we cancel the flight prior to 12 hours, we don't have to refund because it is out of our control. That is why you will see any pre-cancels happen the day before. You should actually read the PBOR. So if we cancel a flight due to lack of crews within 12 hours of departure, it will cost us the amount of ticket sales for that flight which is nowhere near $156,000. More like $15,000 depending on the flight.

15,000 dollars. Ha.

Reducing the ASM/aircraft would increasing the RASMs, so that could explain some of the change

Reducing the ASM/aircraft would increasing the RASMs, so that could explain some of the change in RASM, but not all of it. Likewise, it would also increase the CASM since the aircraft essentially still costs the same amount to operate, but has fewer ASMs to spread out the costs.

Why Ha?

Average fare fourth quarter of 2006 was $120.

A full flight would be $18000 in ticket sales.
2007 year to date load factor is 80%.
That would be $14,400.

Average fare fourth quarter of 2006 was $120 is why ha.

Turn your PM function on.

Actually, the 16% increase in RASM was comparing 1st quarter 2006 TO 1st quarter 2007.

JetBlue's preliminary passenger revenue per available seat mile for the month of March increased 16 percent year over year.

Average fare in 2006 was $106 (Q1 2006)... so a 16% increase would be $122.96 for Q1 2007. Not to bad but not quite the $139 that would be in average fare was $120.

Still, CASM is the key!

Do you all think JB is going to lower their hiring mins? Word on the street is that many mainline guys are going to hire low timers now. What is your take for JB?

splert, your an idiot.... 40 pilots have left this yr to date. get your facts straight.

40 have left so far? Does that include those that we offered a class date and never showed up?

Does that count the number of new hires that showed up for training and then left during training?

Does that count the number that showed up for training and then during IOE left for another 121 carrier?

Does that count those that finished IOE and then left for another 121 carrier?

You clearly have a single channel COM and it permanently tuned to Company.

Do some research. Check out CrewTrac for today and tomorrow.

Grow up and face the music, we are very, very short staffed. I would post the FLICA number but that would be wrong, since it's inside company numbers and it is really embarrassing. I’ll tell you one thing I have seen negatives numbers a few times this past week. Thank God the weather has been nice or you would be forced to question all that you believe and hoped was true. Usually that kind of right of passage is very ugly for those so deep in denial.

Good day

Yes we are. Anyone who can promptly deliver (in person mind you) a double In-n-Out burger, "animal style", with a large fries and a chocolate shake to my house in Virginia wil be hired by JetBlue.

As long as they are not a high time "turboprop only" guys right?

I never got the chance to work fast food..... so I guess there is my downfall!

(working 3 years at mesa supplementing your income with moonlighting at a burger joint must be the way to go!!!!!!!)

No flames plz, I'm not in any way bitter as I'll keep attending the open house's as long as there are free cookies, coffee and Verna's smiling face!

:-)

PS:
I thought In-n-Out burger was just on the west coast?
If so it will be cold by the time it gets to VA!

In-n-out burgers are the greatest hamburgers ever. If you get a chain in Virginia I will move there. Down south we aint got much chance.

As far as hiring I would say keep going to the open houses. Just heard of some guys getting on with lower than average time. People still don't want the job and we havent been filling classes.

Hey Bavarian, what email said we might get a B fund? I thought compensation was over with.

Virginia is the South, my brutha. Except for anything near D.C. That there's OCCUPIED TERRITORY.

Check you last update email. The attachment had a statement about a pilot Defined Benefit Contibution Plan, more info coming April 16th. I am not at work, so I don't have it. I may be reading into it, but it lured me in. Every CA I have flown with since has overlooked that statement as well.

Who knows.
