Well, guys, it's been fun but I too got the dreaded call today. VK did sound sincere when she apologized for the lengthy delay in letting me know, especially with bad news. I am continuing to pull for you guys who are not in the know yet; I'm keeping the faith that it's not all downhill from here. I was so shocked that I really didn't get any intel for you all, so for that I apologize. Just like kjkil, I wasn't given a specific reason. I asked about previous employers, and VK said she would be required by law to tell me if that was the case. I don't know how I ranked in the grand scheme of things, but life goes on, and I have to work even harder now to provide a good quality of life for my family. If I don't find a career position in the next 6 months I may reapply, but I hope it doesn't take me that long to find something. I can honestly say I thoroughly enjoyed everyone I ran into at JetBlue, both interviewers and interviewees, and wish you all the very best of luck in the future. I've also enjoyed our conversations on here as we've waited for what seemed like forever! I am just glad to know, so that I can do what I need to do.

Keep the faith, bros - there has to be some more good news coming down the chute soon!

-TG

P.S. - by good news, I mean you guys who are waiting...your classdate may be just around the corner!

Wow.... I'm really sorry for those of you that have hung out and won't be going to MCO. I was really looking forward to meeting the guys that had been keeping this thread alive.

Oh well... this probably just means that UPS interview is right around the corner for you. Best of luck!

WTF?
TG I am sorry to hear that. It is a little strange that all of a sudden three people in a row got turned down. Is anybody getting a class date? I thought this was a background check! Well my hopes have officially been dashed and now I am sitting by the phone waiting for the bad news. On a bright note I was able to get my old job back (if I want it). I guess flying around in a new Hawker isn't all that bad. TG where are you located? Maybe I can help (I don't know but it never hurts to try).

TG, I am trying to do some damage control with my employer but if you are in New England or willing to come to the great white north, I may be able to help. Let me know if you are interested.

Wow, I am shocked! I don't understand what's going on. TG I am very sorry to hear the news...I am getting nervous about the thanks, but no thanks call. Good luck to the remaining candidates, and as TG says........KTF.

Hey That Guy,
I am really sorry too. I am in the Jan 11/12 group and it really "hits home" when this happens to someone who has worked so hard to keep others informed. I wish you the sincerest good luck!

Hey guys-

Thanks for the words of encouragement. Like I said, I don't harbor any ill-will about JetBlue, since those I came in contact with were all very professional. I do believe they may need to look at their process when it takes them nearly 12 weeks to inform someone they are not going to be put into class. My wife is very pissed, and I'm just wondering what it is about me that they didn't like. Unfortunately, the rest of the Phase II folks and I who haven't gone on to Phase III (or whatever they call it) will most likely never know what kept us from going on. If JetBlue had called a week earlier, my family and I could have taken some more time to pack the house up; instead, we're moving everything this weekend in a rushed manner. I know you can't 100% count on a class date once you're in Phase II, but I had to go on the assumption that a February class date was a distinct reality. As pilots, we're always trying to think ahead, and this was just one thing I was doing to prepare my family and I for a pay cut that would put me into a career flying spot. My wife is from an aviation background and very understanding, but even her patience has worn thin throughout this process.

In the end, this is just another opportunity to pursue a career position elsewhere. My family and I are continuing forward with the huge lifestyle change we knew would need to happen for us to make the move to JetBlue, which now allows me a lot more flexibility. It has been an excellent learning experience, and I really have enjoyed talking with everyone I met at the interview, and especially enjoyed the banter while waiting with you guys here in purgatory! While I really wish I had been given a class date at JetBlue, and given a chance to shine there, I really believe the Almighty has His hand in helping to direct what happens in my life. Looking back, too many things have happened that seem to fit like a puzzle, things that at the time I didn't think twice about. Upon looking back, too much of it is coincidence, so I firmly believe it was not my time to become part of the JetBlue team. My thoughts and prayers are with those who are going on to Phase II, and most especially for those who have received the same news I have. Keep the faith, because good things will happen if you maintain the same vibe you had going through the JetBlue interview process!

I would very much like to stay in touch with you guys, so drop me a PM every now and then to let me know how you are all doing. I certainly appreciate the offer by several of you to look out for potential job opportunities for me - I am currently in NJ, but my family is happy anywhere on the east coast. As long as we're an hour or so from the beach, life is good! We'd be even happier to move farther south. If the job started at $85,000/yr, that wouldn't be so bad, either. Just kidding on the pay, I am just glad you guys care enough to keep your eyes and ears open for me. My flight time is 6,000+ total, with a smattering of jet, heavy turboprop, general aviation, and military single seat jet time.

Again, best of luck to everyone, and if I don't secure a potential career position in 6 months, I may give JetBlue another shot. Like one guy said, maybe UPS will be calling me soon! Or a Fortune 50 flight department with a G550 that flies once or twice a month! LOL

It's been an distinct pleasure talking with you all. I'm signing off this thread, so for the last time:

Go Big Blue, watch out for one another in class, fly safe, and keep the faith!

- TG

TG,

You have a great attitude and it will get you far. Good Luck to you and your family. I will keep in touch.

Cheers

Well you can make it 4 people that got the thanks but, no thanks!!! I got the call last night but, didn't have time to post. They said to get more time and reapply. I'm not sure if I will. I hope to have something sooner. Any advise on where to apply. My stuff is already at Continental. Good Luck to the rest.

Hey That Guy;

You strike me as a class act. If you are interested in working for the Japanese on the JALways contract let me know. You can check out the job at www.wasinc.net . They will also be doing screening interviews at the Air Inc job jerk this weekend. The job is not for everyone but I did make over 80K my first year.

Take it easy;

Sorry to hear it guys...I'm not someone waiting for JB, but I feel for you guys. What a crappy thing to do, hold people in limbo for almost three months just to give them the thanks, but no thanks call. In no way, shape or form does it take that long to do a simple background check that should take a week or two at the most. Maybe it's just me, but i really would not want to work for a company that would do that. Anyway, I hope you guys get what you are looking for...although it will not be JB at this time.

What type of total time do you "really" need to be competitive with JB? I am a new FO and just planning my future options. Help would be great!

Thanks

Denied for a reason that makes absolutely no sense to me,
'Competitive Reasons'; Crazy it took this long for that reason.

Best of Luck to ALL ---

Final post, 'logging off',
Jet
