Couple of questions

For what it's worth,

Has anyone heard of a March interview being called for a class date yet?

Does anyone know the next available class date with seats still open?

Does anyone know when Health benifit eligibility begins? Travel benefits?

Is it true that there are no E-190 slots available till June?

Does anyone know what JBLU will be trading at Jan 19, 2009?

Health benefits start at the beginning of the first full month after you are hired. For example, if you start on the 15th of March then your benefits start on the 1st of April.

Sorry, I don't have answers to the other questions.

Fellow Happy Campers,

I received my FAA, Company PRIA and Alcohol/Drug and Credit Reports about 2 weeks ago. I know that the jetBlue Pilot Recruitment Team is working very hard and is happily overloaded. Waiting is never easy but this time it's worth it.

Good luck and I’m sure that we will all meet in training.

Count me in as 15.

Got my PRIA and credit check four weeks ago but no Drug/Alcohol confirmation. In fact previous employer hasn't even gotten it yet. Probably means a l -o --n ---g ----e -----r _________w -------a -----------i -------------t .

Still camping happily.

Kayman, I'm sure this thread will light up like a switch board as the calls start coming. Be patient my friend, I'm sure everything will work out. We're only going on week 4. 4 down, 4 to go! Anyone know when the NFL football draft is?

hellooo........hellooo.........hellooo.......

Where'd everyody go?

Have this paranoia that everyones been called, hired, and in class and left me behind?

I figure that some people will get called starting on the 23rd - 26th. Here is my theory. There are still slots open for the May 10th class. To give employers two weeks notice (which jetBlue has tried to do in the past) they need to call people on or before the 26th. The next class would be the 24th which would all coincide loosely with the 8-12 week plan.

If nothing else I have given everyone something to read.

HA HA, MADE YOU LOOK!!!!

Hey, it's Good Friday! Maybe it will be real GOOD! Maybe the Easter bunny comes early! Hope everyone has a great weekend. Keeping the faith.:)

I should have said I believe there are still slots in the May 10th class.

There has been a class ever two weeks for a long time and no one from the January interview cession got a May date (except for one that had to refuse his April date for some reason). They have been giving people right at two weeks notice for class so 2+2+2+2+2=11.

I am not a betting man but I would guess there are going to be calls made on the week of 20th - 26th.

If I am wrong, who cares! It won't change anything. I am just trying to plan a good nights sleep, cause I haven't had one in months.

Your probably right. I'm figuring they'll need March interview guys to fill the May and June classes as most of the January guys are all used up on board. I have heard of a couple guys being called with less than two weeks notice. Always the option to postpone and take a later date for the two weeks. One I know of got a call on a Friday to start the next Wednessday.

Come on guys, we can't have this thread fall 5 deep. I take it things have been pretty quiet for everyone. Maybe there has been some rehashing of the upcoming classes due to all the doom and gloom being painted on the company. Regardless, all it takes is a phone call and I would gladly put my two week notice in! 5 weeks and counting! Keeping the faith.:)

Fins up,
when does your class start? How many in class, Bus/190??

thanks.

welcome onboard!

Sorry for so long a delay. I started class on April 12th. There are 24 folks sitting in my class. Three are 190 guys and the rest are Bus. I chose the Bus. This state-of-the-art jet thing is definitely new to me, but I can't wait to fly one around - or even a sim. We'll get to those in a couple weeks.

Life is good here so far. "Damn" glad to be here. Long days, but it'll be worth it.

Class started again. Guess I should pay attention.

Sorry I took so long to update the list, I was out of town for the Easter break. So now we are up to 16. I had to go single space as it is starting to get pretty long. Break out the reading glasses. Now that the break is over I can get back to some serious phone bending. You know those folks who bend spoons by staring at them? Well thats me, only I choose to stare at the phone. All together now. RING DAMM YOU !!!

Give me news or give me a sleeping pill

Hey fins, find out when they are going to start calling people for the may classes. It can't hurt to ask and it might help me get some sleep.

What have they told you about the outlook for the rest of the year and years to come? Are they still planning on 500 pilots a year for the next 5 years? Have they mentioned slowing down? Throw us a bone. It's lonely in the dark.

Just for giggles...I saw a Virgin America A320 in Greenville waiting to be painted today. N622VA all white with red engines.

Relax before you give yourself an ulcer

I'll see what I can do. However, let me remind you of one thing: You're only starting week six of phase II. I know it sucks and I certainly feel your pain. I didn't get my call until around week nine and a bunch didn't get a call until even later. That is, after all, what they told us at the interview to expect. Here are two dirty words for you - be patient. The odds are definitely in your favor.

As far as hiring numbers, I know the plan is still to hire 500+ this year. I don't know about the years to come. They have not mentioned slowing down. We're opening up new bases right and left so I take that as a positive sign

Lastly, Virgin America can suckit! That's actually a joke. I believe we live in what is known as capitalism (or something like that). While I can't say I would enjoy more competition, that's the way the world turns. All we can do is do our best to make our airline the best, convince customers that it is, and try to be profitable. Now I have to get down off my soapbox and do some studying.

Hang in there folks. You're almost there (or 'here' really).

Fins

Good luck with your studying Fins! I think that's pretty impressive to find time to read these threads while in ground school. I guess everyone needs a break once in awhile. Can't wait to do the same! I hear the sidestick isn't that hard to get used to. :D

whats with the grey?

Did you know that while staring at your phone you can actually feel your facial hair growing

Whats the Blue policy on facial hair?

Hello everybody who is waiting patiently. I think Verna is going to start making calls Monday morning. I am basing that guess on no information whatsoever.

Scott

I just received a FEDEX letter from jetBlue. Does anyone want to know what it says? It is a form letter that basically says too bad try again.

Yes, some people do get turned down in phase two. I just increased all of your chances.

I looked into my background and I know I don't have any skeletons. I am a good guy, a far pilot, and I have no idea why I was turned down.

I am not mad but I am sad. I'll get over it and I will try again. God knows I love abuse...I'm a Pilot!

Sincere condolences

Captain Dad, Sorry to hear that man. After waiting this long with the optimisitic hope we're all trying to have, it's Kind of a gut shot! Hopefully you have a job now that will keep you going paying the bills.

I thought the acceptance to phase II email stated that if anything disqualifying came up you would have an opportunity to address it. I had heard that a couple other guys had gotten the same letter with no explanation and was hoping it wasn't true.

As for improving our chances, technically that's correct, but the reality letters like yours are going out makes the ulcer start to bleed!!

While I know in the back of my mind that the letter is always a possibilty,I have been guilty of the "Happy Thought's" syndrome. I agree with Kayman about the "Gut Shot" that we feel when reality comes a knockin at the door. Truthfully I had hoped only to update the list with equipment types and class dates. Captain Dad my sincere condolences as well as best of luck in whatever opportunities fly in your direction.

capt dad, sorry to hear the unfortunate news. I hate to read downers on these threads but I guess we're all subject to that reality. Stay positive and optimistic and good things will happen. Keep your head up.
