And your point zonker?? I can't wait to get out of here. But there are no "real" major airline jobs. That may change in a couple years. As long as the LCC's continue to have problems earning the big bucks of the past few years and the legacies regain some pricing power.

See I ADMIT my airline sux!! The JetWho's and the Critters among us continue to defend their airline as their only salvation.

Oh yes I forgot, Continental, FedEx, and UPS are hiring but I am not Mr. Military so FedEx is clearly out and I lack the 2000 PIC and 2 dozen recomendations that the other 2 would require anyway.

Wake up call....

Hopefully this is a wakeup call for my fellow B6 pilots... I hope the arrogant ones learn that we are not immune from the trials and tribulations of a tough industry. If we take this and learn from it, rework the business plan to incorporate the reasons why (other than fuel) our revenue slumped and didn't manage to keep up then we will be better off. Many of the pilots at B6 are furoughed from APA/ALPA and are just happy to be working at a major. Maybe some will go back to their former carriers and regret leaving us someday... just like some WN pilots did in the 90's. As far as our idiots who can't keep their jumpseat comments professional, I personally apologize for them... they don't have an internal filter... they can't help that. It's all part of the 5% rule that's been pointed out before.

We've hit our first big road bump... I feel that we have the right management team driving the bus. Only time will tell. I see it from the inside and know it but for others only future performance will be the true test. We are still a very young airline and will have many hurdles to navigate before we are out of the woods... on retrospect I don't think any airline is ever out of the woods. Ask Eastern/PanAm/TWA etc... Hell we turn SIX in 10 days...

To all of you union drum beaters who think that is the key to airline success... how long did it take NWA/UAL/USAIR to get a union... much longer than six years.

You guys are funny. Thats what the legacy carriers are for. If we did it, it would be $59.00 each way before taxes. Yes, we would make money on that route.

You not only wouldn't make money....you wouldn't even be able to make it there. So keep dreaming.

I wonder what your attitude towards others would be if someone at your company (it certainly wasn't you) would not have been smart enough to hedge fuel? They did and you've made money for now but those hedges are starting to expire. You may just find yourself in a different position in the future. Not that I would wish that on anyone, not even jerks like you that enjoy hardships of others.

Sorry to disappoint you but UAL has not failed. You may just be in for some competition that you didn't bargain for.

FedEx is not "clearly out" as you describe. Many, Many civilian only folks there.

The only question is do you know someone well enough to take you in for a meet and greet, grip and grin, or whatever goofy name they want to call the pre-interview interview.

2 dozen recommendations??? Very funny. Don't give up 'cause you may be one recommendation away from getting the call. Really!

Sorry to dissapoint you, but let's face it. PRICE RULES....There is no such thing as brand loyalty any more. Those days are kaput. I wish nobody in this biz bad will, there is enough of that going on here, but cash is king, and people are going to shop for the lowest fare, and bitch about it til they puke!

Let's charge more than $25 to go to BOS then.

Hedges expire? = WRONG

Dude, we were talking about various cities SWA will serve in the future. I did not comment on Jet Blue losing money. I did not say anything about UAL. If you want me to I will, but I didn't. If you think the Southwest of today will be the Southwest of tomorrow, then you are wrong again.

I don't necessarily agree entirely with that statement. Sure for the backpack crowd and those using garbage bags for carry on's, yes.

Isn't it ironic though how people will spend $5 for a bottle of water, $4 dollars for a cheezy hot dog and $7 for a bag of those fancy nuts by the pound yet they whine about a $5 or $10 fare hike.

and my pension is intact (401k).

You consider your 401k a PENSION?!

I love you man!

Would you consider a ketchup packet a crew meal?

Why get a layover hotel? Those boarding lounges have mighty comfy chairs.

I heard you JBLU pilots are garbage pickers after the flight is done. That's awesome! Will you dump the lavs too?

Kudos for trying to get the FAR's changed to fly longer days too. The way I figure it, the extra revenue you generate for me flying over 8 hours will more than offset the cost of the occasional plane augering into the ground after the crew falls asleep.

I promise you. You and me. We're gonna be TIGHT!

Wow.

Do you have any idea what LUV is hedging? Do you think that the hedges are in Jet A? Do you know that Jet A doesn't trade on the futures market? Do you understand the term 'futures market?'

Never mind. I already know most of the answers.
