perhaps they didn't even get to all the dec interviews, there was concern that they couldn't do a full DB for both Nov/Dec last week in the time they had.

Can anyone confirm or deny this??? I am not sure I can keep up the Joe Cool demeanor up for another month or more till the next DB....

Still Waiting.... Still hoping....

bingo i don't think anyone knows but those at the DB and PD if this occured. i would wait a week and if all the folks get letters and calls and you get nothing i would call the PD and see if you slid to the Feb DB. the fact that calls have been going out to folks who interviewed as late as dec 15th says to me now that it is likely they got through all of the nov/dec interviews however. hopefully you'll get a postive call tommorow or something.

Got the call at 2301 CST on Jan. 17 from MDW CP. The phone rang and I wondered, "Who the heck is calling me now?" Best call of my life.

Numbers when called for interview:

3850 TT
1730 Turbine PIC (All turboprop)
Civilian regional
737 Type 8/04 Higher Power
2 other types
Interviewed 11/10

Let me see...BWI, DAL, HOU, OAK, PHX...now MDW...have not heard MCO...is there any real chance the calls will continue to a third day? Canyonblue737...I really appreciate your "voice of reason" and would love to hear your opinion... I guess today's mail will likely answer this question, but since I am looking at this thread every 45 seconds...just thought I would ask. Thanks!

Icing down the beer to facilate crying into to it!

i just don't know. clearly they had more people to call this time around since 2 months of interviews were before the DB. also ever since the CPs started making this calls (instead of the more efficent PD) the calls have taken a bit (several days 1-3) to go out. the PD used to do it all in one day. sadly at this point i would guess that the only way to know for sure is to get the letter or the call.

Lawndart,
My source says that all the calls have now gone out. I hope someone can refute this. No news of anyone getting calls from the MCO CP office.

Got the call yesterday.

Interviewed Nov14
6500 TT
Second interview with Southwest
Civilian-regional pilot
I wish the best to everyone still waiting on the call.
Congrats to those who have been called.

It is certainly beginning to feel like time has expired...did we see any reports of any calls today? The last I heard of was a 2330 call yesterday. I guess the MCO CP did not get to make calls this go around...

No Letter today....:D
Come on MCO!!!

Anyone keep in touch with their interview buddies? What has the percentage of peopl getting the call vs the dreaded letter? I know in the past it has been around a 40% or so.

eagle: That sucks. Don't take it personally and don't give up. The poster just ahead of you got it on the second try. There is no rhyme or reason to it, so don't beat yourself up over it.

Good luck and keep hanging in there.

Dude that sucks big time, I think I am also out of time for that phone call. If you dont mind me asking , What day did you interview.

12/12/05 for me

Good Luck

Still no letter for me either. And I was expecting to get it on Sat. Did they not mail them out until Tues? Now I'm going to have to hear the bad news over the phone at an overnight...

15 people on my interview date, 3 said they got a call.

Congrats to those who have received the call & good luck to those who are still awaiting word one way or the other. To those who may not get selected the good news is that you obviously met the criteria for selectoin for an interview & certainly will not be less qualified the next time (a year from your interview date) to reapply. Hopefully you'll be even more qualified. As others have said many get selected on subsequent tries....hang in there & don't give up. Keep all of your contact current at both SWA & other carriers....good luck to all!

How many folks who got the letter had their references checked?

Any idea what the historical average is on getting references checked and then getting turned down?

I had at least 6 ref's called, 6 hard copies of SW pilot letters taken into 2 different chief pilots, 15 internal computer refs. I have over 11,000 TT, 1600 in a 737, 8 years 121 experience, college, 4 different types including 737, and this was my 2nd go around at the interview. No call or letter yet.
What has the percentage of peopl getting the call vs the dreaded letter? I know in the past it has been around a 40% or so.
This time the percentage of those hired seemed to be a little higher. I had five of my six clients called from the DB. Some were first time interviewees; others were on their second attempt.

My advice to those who did not make, as Chase and others have said, is not to give up. I know for many people that SWA is their first choice. However, I would also suggest casting your net to other carriers. The 737 type rating has not hurt at other airlines.

Good luck everyone and keep the faith!

Ok calls have gone out and so have the letters. No call. No letter. What gives? Anyone else in the same boat?

I am in the same boat...I must admit I have given up and am trying to move on...except for that one micron of false hope that the MCO CP has a list somewhere...and the fact that me last name begins with "W"!

I have not received a letter yet, but I had someone put my name in the computer and it came up as not being hired. Mail must be slow. Sorry to be the one to give the bad news.

no letter

Yep...
To reference my favorite TV show.... it looks like
"No soup for you! come back..one year!" No call for me. No letter for me either, however, a couple of guys that interviewed with me got calls on Monday.

On the "slimmest ray of hope" front, I do have a friend that said it took two weeks for him to get a call..must have been a special case of some sort.

Good luck fellas

No call, no letter...

One of my buds from the October hire group was called by the PD after "all" of the calls had gone out (a slight paperwork mix up).

Hope is a good thing, even when all of the indicators are pointing in a different direction.

Congrats to all who received the call, best of luck in your new career!

Take care, fly safe.

I interviewed Nov 10th which means I only have to wait 10 months to reapply. This was my third try and I had several inside refs. I must have worn the wrong skirt. (sorry, you'd have to know that i am a male with tree trunk like legs to appreciate my joke)
