I just haven't seen (AA/TWA, US/AWA, DAL/NWA, UAL/CAL or any regional airline integration) where the smaller airline loses all their captain seats.

Shuttle America lost all their captain seats when Chautauqua bought them in '05. Lost their longevity as well.

What I see is a ATL base opening on the SWA side next 12 months, and the draw down of the AT base. So when you bid to come to SWA, you bid right back into ATL and fly what your Seniority can hold.

This isn't very likely. SWA doesn't have an ATL domicile. If one is announced, it will be treated as a new domicile just like LAS, DEN, etc. Giving trannies any preference would be against the SWAPA cba.

As ATL is an east coast city, and SWA has so many pilots waiting for east coast bases, I can't imagine the SWA pilots waiving that to make trannies happy.

Bottom line: When SWA announces an ATL base, it will be filled in seniority order which means RSW pilots will get plenty of those slots.

Incorrect. They were actually turning a profit. They lost the captains seats in arbitration because the arbitrator chose CHQ's proposal exactly as it was presented.

I don't know why guys are bickering with each other here. This whole thing is on Gary Kelly. There's not a pilot on either side that had a single thing to do with this. If you aren't happy put all your anger towards GK.

It doesn't matter now...the SLI is over. The ink is dry and we have to move on. Holding grudges against your fellow pilots will do nothing. I'm not happy about this merger either, but it is done. Something else is about to happen. If history serves, it will not be good for the pilots....especially the junior ones.

Actually Wave, this contract really isn't that great. The junior folks made out alright at the expense of the senior folks. A lot of us are not really thanking you. Next you're going to somehow take credit for AirTran hiring us in the first place, thereby giving us the opportunity to be aquired by Southwest.
