OK, OK, I DO apologize for that. After looking at it again, not meant (except for the puddle pirate comment). Thanks for serving.

AMEN. It's SWA fault when your life is not on schedule ?? They should leave a seat open on every plane just in case you need one, even for a time not marked on your ticket ??
You show up late, can't make your flight, dog dies, you work late, etc etc, IS NOT ANYBODIES FAULT BUT YOURS? You bought a ticket for a certian space in time. If you are not there, then it is your problem.
Very rarely could I not find a seat out of ONT. As for SWA being the reason for this because of low fares, I have recently found that Delta or American have fares equal to or less than SWA.
Ok.....I will try to explain because everyone seems to think I "can't find a seat out of ONT". I DON'T LIVE IN ONT. I AM BASED IN ONT. I DON'T LIVE IN A CITY SERVED BY SWA! Therefore, since all my commercial DHs are scheduled out of ONT (a city served by SWA) and a lot of my trips start in cities served by SWA, the company index is so low (this is based on the walk up refundable fare) that I can't get a flight out of where I live (since it is not served by SWA) for under the index. Therefore, I am forced to j/s to get to work instead of using a positive space ticket.
1. No, I am not going to pay the difference because the difference is usually $300-$500!
2. I can't move to ONT because then my fiancee would have to commute and it would not be fair to him.
3. MY POINT IS: If SWA fares were up WHERE THEY SHOULD BE, I would not have this problem.
4. No, contrary to popular belief....it is not "all about me", it's about the frigging fares being so low that it's ridiculous. You SWAers can bash me all you want but the fact of the matter is is that if your company raised fares, SWA could make more money, you all could be paid better too! So, stop with the "capt. megadeth posted a SWA bash thread so we all have to get our panties in a bunch....oh no!" AND LOOK AT THE BIG PICTURE!
5. Vetterracer.....once again....missed my point completely.
6. If you don't work for SWA, I don't think you should be bashing me either....everyone knows if SWA raised fares, other airlines could too and maybe your airlines would make more money.
7. FOR THE MILLIONTH TIME! I AM NOT BITTER THAT I DIDN'T GET HIRED BY SWA! I don't think I could handle all the koolaid....I would drown.I have many many reasons for my disdain and this is just another one of the many.
8. FlyBoeingJets gets it.....why don't all of you? (I love you too man!)

The above post shows that you know nothing about the concept of SWA. Southwest believes in people flying who normally wouldn't be able to fly. Does "A symbol of freedom" ring a bell? It's about people being able to go places without breaking the bank.
Southwest has raised their fares, including the past week on certain flights. I'm glad SWA doesn't price like the majors. If you want to pay the higer fares you think should be in place then go ahead. No one is telling you you have to fly on SWA.
Besides, if it's that big of a deal why don't you drive to LAX or SNA? That would cost you less than the $300 to $500 you claim it would cost to pay the differnce to make it work.
Some people want it all handed to them on a silver platter.
The more I hear from her, the more I really respect her......Yes, she knows that she didn't get hired at WN, but then again, many good folks didn't, either. So she's a little bitter-simply a good woman scorned. I am sure General Lee was pissed he didn't feel the luv either.
Throw in a little megadeth and silk stockings.........sexy!!!
First off she did not even apply at SWA. Next, do you really think she regrets being hired at UPS? Lastly, i agree with the silk stockings comment.

Thanks bro!
I did interview for a Women in Aviation SWA 737 scholarship once and I didn't get it. They gave it to someone who didn't even want it.

Hmm...there is absolutely no bitterness in the above statement whatsoever. (hint of sarcasm) I don't know about you guys...but Ms. Megadeth definately has a chip on her shoulder. She claims it doesn't exist...but I beg to differ. If you did not want to work for SWA then why try to get the scholarship? Obviously they did a good job then if they did not pick you for it.
Let's see, a UPS pilot who lost her security blanket seems to know what SW should be charging their customers... I bet the even the boxes ride as far from MD as possible--she's scary! It wouldn't surprise me if she got elected Speaker of the House someday, though... WS
Well, I have written this many many many times before and I will write it....again. I used to really want to work for SWA. I am not "too macho" to admit it. I really really wanted it.......badly. They gave it to someone that told me personally "I don't want to fly a f***in 737 my entire life". If you claim I am bitter, then so be it. I was bitter about that for a long time. You are right, they did a good job since they didn't pick me for it because I would be a senior FO there and it would have been hard to leave that for UPS's 26K a year. I am much happier they way things turned out. You know that Garth Brooks song "Unanswered Prayers"? Well, that song rings so true. Maybe they are so good in the People Department that they could see the future....that the last thing I would want is to be at a passenger carrier. I have many many other reasons for being bitter with SWA but bitterness that I don't work there now is NOT one of them. Sorry to burst your bubble.
I just notice you are the first to bash SWA when given the opportunity. Either way it worked out for you...and either way you would be happy whether at SWA or UPS.
Well a big part of that is probably the stupid sheer joy that I get from some of the SWA guys on here getting their panties in a tangle when I say something about SWA. I actually have found it funny over time. They always get so defensive like I am ripping on their mother or something. I will say that I have recently lost a friend because of their "loyalty" to SWA. It's a long story and I would have to tell you about it to make any sense. That really doesn't help matters either. I am sure if I was working at SWA I would love it (besides for the passengers) but it definitely turned out for the best for me.
Ok....enough of the sensitive honest talk.....let's get back to ticket prices! WTFO???? :bawling:
She is starting to make the SW hiring folks look a whole lot smarter.
How old are you again Capt?
