Schmitty,

I don't know if this will help you out or if it still holds true, but when I interviewed last Mar., the folks in my group of six that didn't get the job got a letter within a few days saying so. I waited 4 weeks, 3 days before my poolie letter came. Then I waited another 1.5 months until I got the medical call, then another month before class started. Hopefully, the wait will be good news, and you along with the long-standing poolies will get in class quickly. Good luck to you and let us know when you find out!

Diddo to waiting

Hey Schmitty,
I also had to wait 4 or 5 weeks until my pool letter came. It was a long time but it was worth it. Hope we both get out of Mesaba hell soon before we have to go back to being first officers on a Saab! I'll actually be a very junior captain if all the Avros leave.
Been swimming ever since. My breast stroke is so good I'm gonna try out for the Olympic team!

Chris

Chris,

Sounds like UPS is gearing up the hiring. Hopefully you will be getting a call soon. I can't wait to do a huge cannon ball into the pool.

If things keep going the way they are at XJ, I will be FO by December. At least I might be able to spend the holidays with the fam. Probably not though. knowing XJ I will be in training on X-mas Day.

Good luck
Schmitty

I like the saab. It's the 60% pay cut going from Avro capt to Saab FO that hurts..(possibly Chris)

For me it's only about a 30% cut(SF Capt to SF FO).By DEC all pilots still at XJ will have been line holding Captains previously. On top of that, add the 20% pay cut management is trying to impose through the bankruptcy courts and you have the "Mesaba Hell" that Chris is talking about.

"Hope we both get out of Mesaba hell soon before we have to go back to being first officers on a Saab!

Chris"

I don't think any of us feel like we are to good to fly the Saab. It's more of the fact that we are disappointed in the direction our company has gone.

DANG! All pilots there will have been captains at some point? That sucks! I hear ya....I was just giving him crap. It sucks for you guys. Hopefully things will get better. Good luck with the UPS job....I take it you have not heard anything yet?

No problem...thats why I said something. We at XJ are just surprised how far the cuts are coming.

Still no word. Maybe next week.

Take Care

I'm trying to figure a few things out from this thread that you all may be able to help me out with. Are those waiting in the pool implying that if you don't get a "thanks but no thanks" letter in the mail a few days after the interview then there is a good chance you have passed the sim/interview? Has anyone gotten the rejection letter after a long wait or does it come relatively quickly? Can you give me some insight as to when it (rejection letter) should come (hopefully not at all). Thx

MF
