I was having the same issue and finally got through it last night. On the initial page, put in a different email address than the one you originally used to apply with. Apparently everything is linked to your email address. I went and registered for a new address at hotmail, but it allowed me to use my original once the application was started.

Anyone know if any preference is given to dudes already living in Anchorage? It's starting to get cold up here....!

Congrats to everyone who just got the call!

I heard from a friend who just got hired and in the pool that they are doing away with the medical for now. Just the piss test. Apparently they need to get people through as fast as possible and another way for UPS to save some cash. BTW, he never got a yes letter either just a phone call saying he is now in the pool.

October 10?

I got the call today also. Oct. 10. No medical, just a drug test at a local facility. GREAT DAY.

SWEEEEEEEEEEEET!!!!!!!

October 10? Class date? What happened w/ the October 3rd class then?

Save some cash?

Not the mentality at UPS V-Stall on this type of thing. They give you ALL of your uniform, luggage, flight bag, paid medical (if you want their doc!) etc... not their motivation to pinch the pennies here, but a good thought.

What is occurring now is what was predicted by the IPA and everyone on the property ... the company holds off on hiring during contract negotiations, the spring continues to compress, and they are now well behind the airframe/pilot curves and in a bit of a pickle. They are attempting to open the hiring faucet but are constrained by an inadequately sized training department, lack of instructors/check airmen, lack of simulators, etc...

More sims have been purchased and leased, but it will take time to bring online. Meanwhile, all ONT recurrent trng will be held in MIA at a leased facility to offload SDF for new hires on the 757 ... they are buying back 100+ weeks of vacation in the next few months, are repeatedly calling the IPA seeking contractual relief to new scheduling constraints (new contract) which drives additional new hires and further aggravates an already precarious understaffed position ... one the company created.

Bottom line ... the guys in HR did not create the staffing shortage (Atlanta did) ... but they are doing their best to hire as many pilots as quickly as they can given the multiple constraints they're forced to operate within. It's a GREAT time to get hired by UPS and quickly put hundreds of guys behind you on the seniority list. Make sure your app is recent (after 1 Aug I believe, have 3 recs, and update often) ... oh and buy all UPS pilots you meet a beer!

Congratulations to all those recently hired and good luck to those waiting to get on property.

4 weeks and 1 day.....No letter..

They called this morning and offered me the job. No medical anymore. They told me I just needed to go to a local hospital and get a drug test. Hopefuly a class date soon after that.

I think I'm still stunned!

BRAVO!!!!!!!!! Are you going to moon the XJ mgmt on your way out????

Singed,

Someone who sat next to you in class 10 years ago.

Here's what I've heard. The Oct 3rd class is still scheduled with 20 folks in it. There's an Oct 10th class of 10 folks (8 72 FE, 1 72 FO, 1 75 FO). And there's also a Nov 1st class of 20 folks (no idea on equipment).

What happened w/ the MD-11?

Interesting that there isn't any talk of MD-11 folks? Although, from what I understand, the September class wasn't "slated" for any either -- they ended up putting 8 or so people through the -11 training last I heard.

Congrats to all!! Great news...

Have any long term poolies been called for any of these classes? KBB? Dog Rocket? Wig Wags haven't you been swimming for a while? Oh, yes, I didn't mean to forget about Chris either?

Ok here's a dumb application question.
I was filling it out on August 10th and my computer crashed.
I rebooted and went back into the program. Filled out all the boxes etc.
When I was completed, I logged out and then went back to update it about a week later.
It now shows one complete application, and one incomplete application. I guess when I re-logged in it started a whole second profile.
Now I can't seem to figure out how to delete the half complete profile so that only the one is left.
They both show active. But one's complete and one's not. I don't want two full complete applications on file, but I don't want none either. Any suggestions?

Well, they are obviously not that desperate for pilots yet since NOT ONE SINGLE PILOT I recommended has even gotten an intervew! Maybe my name is already mud.

Is it safe to assume that if you do not know anyone at UPS you have virtually no shot at a job there since you cannot get an internal reccomendation? Wondering if I should even take the time to apply since I don't know anyone on the property. Thanks.:(

I second that question. It has kinda been a dream of mine for many years to work there (not to sound sappy or anything).
Lately I'm discouraged thinking there's no way I'll ever get an interview, regardless of qualifications, without knowing someone.
Anybody get hired there without friends?

Feeling Sorry for himself,

If you don't apply, you'll never know!

Hey guys,

If you don't put your stuff in, you'll never know if you have a shot. If you really want to work here, sit down at your computer, grab a beer, and fill out all the boxes. I don't think any of us UPS pilots have the "magic" answer to what an applicant needs to get the call. Personally, I think it is "PFM".

Synopsis: Is a rec needed? Definitely helps, but some have been hired recently w/o one. Good luck to all!
