I am still waiting to get a chance to fill out the app. UPS is still "checking more work history" since I am a former employee. Anyone with any suggestions or phone numbers to call?

I was a former employee unloading trucks for a summer and the new system let me fully apply. It even asked if I had ever worked for UPS and I answered yes and it let me continue on the process. My only problem was my uploaded resume is all out of format. I uploaded a ".doc" file and when I click on the resume on my UPS profile...it is a ASPX file and it's a bunch of scrambled text? Any suggestions? Thanks!

I uploaded my resume on a pdf file and it worked ok. Adobe will let you convert the doc file to a pdf for free up to five different files.

Good luck!

Thanks for the suggestion. I converted my resume to PDF and uploaded it to my UPS profile. My UPS profile shows that my resume has been uploaded and it shows the name of the file that I named it, however, when I click on my resume file on the UPS job page all that comes up is a blank page? Can someone log into their profile and tell me if their resume comes up when they click on it? Maybe mine is in their system but I just can't pull it up? I don't know?

My resume looks just like I saved it when I converted it to a pdf file. Not sure where the problem might be. You might try converting it again from a doc file to a pfd file. I had no problems with the application process.

Just keep trying, you will get it right!

I saved my resume as a .doc file, and uploaded just fine. I can open it with no problems at all.

Thanks for the help guys. I finally got it to work. It always said and showed that it uploaded fine... I just couldn't open it when I clicked on it. I didn't do anything different...just deleted and re-uploaded a few times and it finally shows up. Does anybody know how much consideration is given in regards to being a former UPS employee? I unloaded trucks for UPS for a summer. It was a long time ago, 17 years ago, but at least I got to check the box on the app that asked if I have previously worked for UPS.

SplitBar,

I have no idea how much consideration they give to former UPS employees. I used to work for them when I was in college. I worked part-time for 2 years and then went on military leave. When I left I told my managers that my goal was to come back someday as a pilot. That was 10 years ago... Hopefully they will take former employment into consideration.

Cheers and Good Luck to All,

Anybody hear anything back from their interviews yet? I interviewed about three weeks ago and I'm still waiting by the mailbox.

Schmitty,

I don't know if this will help you out or if it still holds true, but when I interviewed last Mar., the folks in my group of six that didn't get the job got a letter within a few days saying so. I waited 4 weeks, 3 days before my poolie letter came. Then I waited another 1.5 months until I got the medical call, then another month before class started. Hopefully, the wait will be good news, and you along with the long-standing poolies will get in class quickly. Good luck to you and let us know when you find out!

Diddo to waiting

Hey Schmitty,
I also had to wait 4 or 5 weeks until my pool letter came. It was a long time but it was worth it. Hope we both get out of Mesaba hell soon before we have to go back to being first officers on a Saab! I'll actually be a very junior captain if all the Avros leave.
Been swimming ever since. My breast stroke is so good I'm gonna try out for the Olympic team!

Chris

Chris,

Sounds like UPS is gearing up the hiring. Hopefully you will be getting a call soon. I can't wait to do a huge cannon ball into the pool.

If things keep going the way they are at XJ, I will be FO by December. At least I might be able to spend the holidays with the fam. Probably not though. knowing XJ I will be in training on X-mas Day.

Good luck
Schmitty
