I sure hope the SIM is not one of those desk top ones regionals use to evaluate 300 hour guys.....lol

I'm not sure but I think you can check with the FBO (sorry, not sure which one) but I'm sure a couple calls to the local FBO's would tell you who offers frasca? dual.

Does anyone know what the junior aircraft is there?
After this last bid closed, there are 40 new-hire spots on the A330, 21 on the 767, and 5 on the 717.

And lots & lots of movement everywhere for those of us already there!

HAL

i agree with dan 100%... i pester the crap out of hawaiian.... i'm in the CP's office every other month updating my resume even if its only for 20 new hrs... squeaky wheel all the way.... this will have been my third time interviewing... no quitting here...
just got done with phase 1... same as before... really hoping i didn't blow anything that i wasn't aware of.... now time for a beer to calm the nerves that are frayed beyond repair....

Your approach seems to be working if you got your third interview! Do you call ahead or just swing by and ask to see the Chief Pilot? I have been resubmitting every time Hawaiian has a job posting but I don't know anyone there. Hmmm, maybe have to apply the squeaky wheel approach. Good luck on the next phase!

i always call ahead... he is a pretty busy guy so you really never know when he will be in his office...
in terms of the sim... man, i don't know what you could prep on to be ready for that thing... a frasca is way better than that thing... the sim is just really old and and pretty tough to trim out... i think it comes down to dumb luck if you can keep the altitude within 200' of assigned...
HAL... thanks for that update... i just heard of a buddy that is going to be upgrading to the 71... he was recalled back in 07'... good sign of things to come....

Just got the 'thanks but no thanks' email... Trying to crawl out from under the ton of bricks that just hit me, though I always knew it was a very long shot...

Good luck to everyone who's gunning for this dream job.

Yeah I just got the same email. On the very same day I was told I went from 391 out of 1100 at Mesaba to 1255 out of 2900 at Pinnacle. Not a very good day for me-but what I have learned is that I will keep trying! I wonder if the CP at Hawaiian used to be in the Army so we have something in common to talk about? lol Best of luck to all of you who got an interview!

As usual no one seems to know what they are looking for. I guess a ton of internal contacts is the key. Although I know of some people that dont know anyone there that have been getting at least a chance. Pretty disappointing! :(

I just got the same email. Bummer!

Thank you for your interest in our First Officer position. We regret to inform you that you have not been selected for the position. We appreciate your interest in opportunities with us, and we will retain your information for consideration for future openings. We wish you the best of success in your employment search.

you all might be getting a second email from their director of HR. Interesting and it put a smile on my face tonight after some disappointing news concerning our merger. one of my favorite quotes from a movie...."so you are saying there is a chance!"

just found out that email was sent out in error.... a bunch of people got it even those that interviewed less than a week ago... just got an email from HR telling us to disregard the email... keep the hope alive!!!

So did everyone who applied get that email? Or just the people who the company is actually considering for an interview???

I don't know but I'm hoping like hell your theory is correct:D
Woke up this morning to the rejection email as well...

I also got the "No Thanks" letter. No follow up email from HR however, so back to "position and hold" for me...oh wait, excuse me, it's now "line up and wait".

congrats 808pilot-from what you said you have really worked hard for it. Sure wish I could get back to the Islands and get some face time with some company people. Its hard to meet them in Minneapolis! lol

... No news for me... Flew out to HNL the other day to get a bit of face time. Amazing how accessible the CP was. Also, quite a good poker face too! Very polite 5 minute meeting, with absolutely no indication as to where the process is etc.

I'm a whole lot more relaxed now, since I've done all I can think of to help my cause. If it's in the cards it will happen. In that sense, the trip out to HI was a success...

Good luck to everyone, I hope you get the call

not sure the wife with a newborn and a 20 month old at home will want me to head out to Hawaii to get some facetime...lol maybe if I bring her with she might change her tune! Did you schedule the meeting or just show up? I know our chief pilots are not ever in their offices.
