Seniority and upgrade times

As mentioned in previous posts, you never know how long you may have to wait to get into a particular base. It may be right out of training, or it could be a couple of months. Lunken has been downsized recently with only 2 C210 and 2 BE-55 runs left.
As far as upgrade time into the Baron, it is a solid 10-12 months before a twin position opens, even if you are wiling to go to the first open available run. I myself am not being picky, and I still can't hold a baron run, even after being with the company for 11 months.

A guy I know with maybe six months seniority at the time got displaced from LUK when some of the runs went away, so I suspect it might be kind of hard to get right now. I've been here nine months and not even the whiff of a baron run. I'm told that this is largely because we can't get bodies in to 210s to cover the runs that upgrades will leave behind. In short, come work for FLX, so I can upgrade.

Update on Domicile Vacancies

Bases openings come and go at the whim of the company, but here is an idea of what is open as of yesterday-

C210
ORL 2 slots
TPA 1 slot
BFM 1 slot
FTY 1 slot

BE 55
BNA 2 slots

If any of you are tired of waiting for a multi slot, why not give Ameriflight a try? You will start in a twin (PA31) and the upgrade is into turboprop aircraft, not a Baron. In 12 months I went from Chieftain to the Metro.

Just a suggestion.

Next C210 Class Date June 26th

Next class date is June 26th, Call Gary Hillyer at 800-677-5675 ext 610 if interested. Last class was extremely small due to Tropical Storm Alberto coming through at the beginning of the class. Still need at least 10-15 pilot applicants.

TPA has around 6-7 210 runs and 1 baron run
not senior at all right now, i think there's atleast 2-3 open runs

Worked at FLX from late 2004 into 2005 and loved every minute of it. I would recommend it to anyone. Heck, sometimes I wish I still had my get home every night ORL run!

Ex FLX FR8T DOG

I worked at FLX 96' to 97'. It was a first class operation then as well. Some of the best flying I ever did. You can gain some great experience there.
