Flexjet Card Drive?? Help Please

Where can I get my card? I want to get this moving along. Why put off the inevitable? Nobody I am flying with seems to know what is going on.

Please give me some insight.

How do I know if anyone else has already done that? Will it cause a problem if they are contacted by multiple groups or individuals? Just seems disorganized.

If a few guys in particular have started a drive, the leaders of 1108 should be able to put you in contact with them.

One of the most important things you can do is get the current names and addresses of all the pilots so you can get the information to them via snail mail. That and talk to everyone you run into to make sure they know it is happening and how to contribute.

Get guys to go to 1108 website. etc etc.

Communication is essential. As pilots we are at a disadvantage with that because we live all over the country. And until you have enough cards to call a vote, the company does not have to give out the addresses. If you know anybody in the shop who can get that information it will help leaps and bounds.

Are NJA or CS pilots asked not write things up in inconvenient places? Do NJA or CS pilots have any say on health insurance premiums going up? Just curious. What are the retirement plans at the fractionals like? Do any have company funded defined benefit plans? I believe CS does.

I have NEVER been asked not to write something up. I discuss it with maint. and if is broke I start writing end of story. I have never been questioned on this matter. And believe me I get writers cramp sometimes. As for the other things you mention I AGREE 100%, especially the rest issue. Did you read the last mailing? Some wiz mentioned Flex was the first to FULLY use 91k rules. That of course with a 135 rest waiver. I say BS on this.

Maybe you should read the FOM that your company provides for you, it explains this for you.

If you want a union, go NJ. It gave them and the rest of the industry what it deserves. Thanks NJ pilots for your efforts. I will still vote no.

I know that quote from japhy sounds harsh, but it's the truth. Life is too good and too short to be miserable at a job. If you're not happy at FlexJet, then go where you'll be the happiest. If you're not happy at NetJets, then why stay? If you're not happy flipping burgers or driving a truck for a living, then make the change. Ball is in your court!

I'm happy here at FlexJet and am looking forward to the meeting info tomorrow. One more thing...YES, thank you Strong Union...you guys have greatly impacted this industry! I just don't believe that we need a union over at FlexJet.

I am happy to do that and see it as only right, given the fact that I encouraged all of the frac pilots to make a stand when the NJ pilots started StrongUnion. Voting is the right of every pilot at Flex. Those of you who think things are just fine shouldn't be so worried. IF you're right, then your fellow pilots won't turn in the cards. Why not let the job speak for itself?

I beg to differ. The leaders of 1108 have explained to the NJ group that industry-wide standards--achieved through unionization of frac pilots---will benefit everyone involved. It is a well-known fact that my family is very involved; therefore, I do "have a dog in the fight". Low wages within the industry make it harder for NJ pilots to demand fair compensation and work rules. I believe that it is better to help others to stand rather than risk being drug down to their level. Apparently 1108's leadership feels the same.

Additionally, there is the matter of free speech that gives me the right to express my opinion on subjects which interest me. I care about the plight of other aviation families, particularly those who share common ground with my family. Having heard many of the same legitimate complaints of being underpaid/overworked from NJ pilots (including my husband) for several years, it is easy for me to identify with the frustrations of the frac pilots that are still faced with the problems the NJ group overcame.

As to your kind request, I bet you wouldn't be making it if I shared your viewpoint, huh? That's just an observation that's as logical as my reasons for voicing my support for those frac pilots that have the courage and determination to improve their job situation.

I don't know what would make you think that, Gunfyter. I'm as greedy as the next guy. I'd like a raise. As a matter of fact, I'd like payscales to be as high as they can be (so we can continue to hire pilots) while still maintaining profitability. That is what's best for all of us in the long term. And hopefully, that is what is being announced in Richardson today.

Wanting something that would be detrimental to the pilot group in the long run is a bit unwise, wouldn't you agree?

Ha! How do you know what I "deserve"? I don't know what I "deserve", that's kind of a vaguely moralistic and overly emotional term if you're talking about compensation. Do you really think "deserving" has anything to do with it? Open up an economics textbook and show me where it says anyone "deserves" anything.

I'll tell you what I want: I want as much monetary compensation as the company can afford to pay. I hope schoolteachers and our men and women in uniform get what they "deserve". I think I'll probably get what I "deserve" shortly after death, just like everyone else.
