Oh, and I nominate Boston Center. They're the most professional controllers, friendliest, and always willing to help us pilots in a bind.

New York Center was voted number two in the country by pilots. Everyone else tied for first. My vote's for Buzz.

Boston by far.....great to us. Houston seems to not be so friendly. Washington is a training ground and is a pain at times and NY is hit and miss.

What about Roger for Chicago center, is he still there? That guy would give direct or headings all the time and hold long conversations like he wasn't busy, then the next controller could not handle what he did.

CLE TRACON/Tower....... man do those guys know how to move the iron:laugh:

I use to love Tupelo atc. You would land and they would taxi you clear and ask you to hold and contact ground. After contacting ground, you would realize it was the same guy and he would clear you to your gate. Very funny stuff.....

On a side note, DTW ground had a good sense of humor. We landed there and parked at the G gates back in the day. At MSP we had spots. The FO when asked where we parked said at the G-spot. He realized what he had said and turned red. About 20 seconds later we had a female controller come back and clear us to the g-spot...then asked "do you boys need help finding that today?" I laughed my arse off for days.

He's not really an ATC facility, but I'll vote for Buzz in ATL as well.

ATL Center has been fine for the 5 years I've been here and it's always nice checking in with BOS Center, seeing as how I'm a New England boy. Not a fan of NY Center, but I think that's more a result of growing up a Boston sports fan. I hate anything New York.

One more for Buzz. Good day Sir!
And Bonnie who used to work ACY (havent been there in a while), so sweet it made my teeth hurt.
Every controller who kept me out of the sheet when I was just an annoying FLIB, is an MVP in my book.

JFK ground with 75 planes awaing takeoff on a dark stormy night. Eagle makes a wrong turn-asks for permission to turn around. Ground says "I dont care what you to just get where I told you"
LGA ground cant get a work in edge wise- Colgan calls clear of the txwy- Ground says "yeah good for you" and continues issueing instructions.
My vote is NYC ground, If you have a sense of humor about stuff that is.

I had a lot of good experiences with NY Tracon, and a few really bad ones. They have a VERY low tolerance for stupid and/or annoying.

SJU.... its just hard to be angry when your in the Islands Mon!

DCA tower for being able to land 22, 19, and 13 within seconds of each aircraft going through another's intersection. All with helicopters and restricted areas everywhere.

VNY Tower, especially Ron. Fourteen+ students in both patterns, a heavy dose of jets with flow to everywhere, has to change runways, and doesn't miss a beat.

No votes for ORD ground. One person (with metering help, but you get the idea) doing all the ground handling for the busiest airport in the world. They get my vote. Admittedly I don't fly into ORD every day, but they never seem to have any rhyme or reason to what happens and it seems to work. I also think that airport is a major disaster waiting to happen, but that's a different story.

One more for Buzz. Good day Sir!

As an aside here, Buzz made a little boo boo last week when he accidentally handed off a female AA pilot with his typical "and a Greeeeat day, Sir". The sneering tone of the stupid crack's "good afternoon, Maam" reply was obnoxious at best.

We were at ORD one afternoon and that guy (the one that sounds fairly young - there's an old guy that can be a little short with people) corralled about 60 planes all over the place, into one straight line. He never let off the mike and it took about 7 mins - something to hear! It was followed by Lufthansa requesting pushback and start up - kinda funny!

I vote sfo the best. juggling four runways worth of trafffic perfectly ballanced until a Delta or Mexicana flight has to come and jack things up is pretty danged hard to do. plus nothing better than cleared for the visual at 10K abeam the numbers right traffic, with instructions to land 28l but don't pass the 747 at Dumbarton for the right. a true pilots airport. it took a few times to not scare the shaet out of the captains here now that I'm in the 73...

Lax ain't bad either when they aren't missing the random airplane trying to cross the hold short line.

worst...SLC. something weird happens once you cross the Zion Curtain and have to go in there, specially vmc and CAVU...
