DTW controller 'Meeeeessssssaaaaabbbbbbaaaaa', SBN approach and departure with the Cyyyyyyaaaaa. I agree with the Cleveland center vote also. Another good one in Detroit DTW: Mesaba you ready to go? XJ: Just waiting on the numbers should only be a minute. DTW: That's what Flagship says! XJ: silence.

what about the auctioneer in clt that guys got a strong set of lungs

This guy is great. All controllers sound the same, with the exception of the Auctioneer on CLT approach. Great attitude and he loves his job....he said so.

All others do a great job. ORD ground, DONT STOP.

The worst is IAD approach.

I vote sfo the best. juggling four runways worth of trafffic perfectly ballanced until a Delta or Mexicana flight has to come and jack things up is pretty danged hard to do. plus nothing better than cleared for the visual at 10K abeam the numbers right traffic, with instructions to land 28l but don't pass the 747 at Dumbarton for the right. a true pilots airport. it took a few times to not scare the shaet out of the captains here now that I'm in the 73...

Lax ain't bad either when they aren't missing the random airplane trying to cross the hold short line.

worst...SLC. something weird happens once you cross the Zion Curtain and have to go in there, specially vmc and CAVU...

Mookie

When I was new on the Bro I remember getting the high route for the right down wind for 28R and having to fight my way down from 11k with s-turns and all after turning too early once cleared. Poor people in the front rows got to hear every warning the GPWS could put out except for "EJECT! EJECT!" A good spanking that was. Now with some experience I'm proud to say I've turned inside the high span and landed on the right in the TDZ. Good times! Now if I'd just learn to slow down earlier and not "F" up the departure spacing for the ones and get the brakes slammed on me ;)

Best-ORD approach and ground 'everybody-shut up'

worst-SLC ground, tower, you name it

Have you heard the guy at RDU? Flight three five nin-ER, raleigh tow-ER, wind 300 at nin-ER, clear to land, then contact ground point nin-ER, see ya lat-ER,

Of course your reply is - - - rog-ER

Then you haven't seen much.

Try DFW in the summer time with a line from Chicago to Mexico.

Or...try DFW on a perfectly clear night, late with only one other a/c coming in and try to guess how many times they will change your runway on you!

I guess that means you have to put down your USA Today and work.

If you consider unnecessarily reprogramming the FMS 6 times and briefing 6 different approach plates within 20 miles of the airport work, then yes. Also, I said late at night. I'm done with the USA Today by then and I'm normally into my People crossword.

Our latest arrivals into DFW back then was 8pm.

DFW doesn't run 6 different approaches at the same time so your reaching on that one.

And if your your heavy into the People below 10k I doubt you take the time to brief the approach.

Would you like some whine with your cheese?

When, exactly, is "back then?" I clearly remember doing the "commuter shuttle" that arrived right around midnight from ATL. You're correct, the highest number of approached I've seen run into there at one time is 5, I was WAY off on that one!
What makes you think I'm doing my People crossword below 10K? I never said that.
Did you mean to say "would you like some cheese with your whine?" That probably would have made a bit more sense. And the answer is yes, I always have room for cheese, thanks.

I'm with The Drizzle regarding Franklin at LGA, I have never met a man who likes his job more than Franklin.

The Clearance Meister, I wonder how much they pay him..Entertaining ..

I think there was a lady with the same "style" as him in PIT a while back.

When DFW was a base. Before your time.

Unless it was a side step it can only be 4.

You seemed to have a problem loading the FMS 20 miles out. Your below 10k that close to the airport.

1) That was not before my time.
2) 36L, 36R, 35L, 35C, 31R
3) No, my problem is with doing unnecessary busy-work due to indecisive controllers who have more concrete than they know what to do with. Remember, this whole thread is about 'favorite ATC,' and I'd say DFW's indecisiveness disqualifies them. And as for the altitude, not necessarily correct, you'd be amazed at what happens to SOP late night.

My favorite ATC facility is the approach controller and the tower controller at the end of the last day.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the tower controller at Charlottesville, VA.

He always says 'runaway'...

"Runway 3, cleared for takeoff, fly the RUNAWAY heading!"

Hahaha, I inquired if the heading got away from him?

Buzz works in the Tracon at ATL, not the Center.
He is kick a$$ thought. I'll keep asking him about my Fried Turkey

I like the ATL tower dude.....with his sharp "seeya".

I agree 100% with you on this one!!! This guy is hilarious. He gets a line of 20 airplanes laughing with his comments. ATL gets my vote. They are smooth operators. KC Center and Memphis are my least favorites. How about the "auctioneer" at CLT. That guy doesn't miss a beat.

Lagos radar 124.7. Participation is optional.

Is he the singing clearance guy?

And can you confirm thats expect 12,000' 10 minutes after departure?

yes, that's him. that is the only time he gets on my nerves, when he's in one of his super anal moods. next time, give him a "Thanks Franklin" a man who enjoys his job.
