When are you people going to learn it has so little to do with us. You really think the GO would orchestrate an E-175 Demo JUST for contract negotiations? Just to "dangle a carrot"??? Honestly I have no idea why Embraer would ever come to our GO since our decision makers are in St. George and the DAL decision makers are on the east end of the field. I do highly doubt it has ANYthing to do with our pilot group.

That would be about 3 years I believe. DL gets 16 717s this year, and 36 each the next two years. Combine that with 13 MD90s this year and retirements over the next 5 years, and there will be some hiring.

It may happen before the 3 years are up. Bombardier will take 60, and DL is considering an order within the next couple years for 24-30 737s or A320s (not NEOs), but a caveat is the manufacturer has to take 50 seaters too. It looks like DL is actively looking for places to dump them as soon as possible.

I heard something funny today. Apparently, someone was raving about DAL trying to buy XJet back. Allegedly in September, DAL approached JA for the purchase, but SkyWest Inc. turned them down. I'm sure we would have been run through the financial wringer just the same as PCL if that was to actually transpire. I'm curious to know why SkyWest Inc. decided to hold onto us.

Just speculation .... The service agreement with Delta must be profitable. Perhaps Delta was trying to buy ASA back so they could downsize the 200 fleet and get out of an agreement that is a money loser for Delta. If Skywest didn't sell it was because Delta would not pony up enough and/or they have plans for the certificate/people that don't involve Delta. I suspect both.

This will completely change with the Delta rate reset in just over a year. Keep in mind that DAL is leveraging PCL in order to force SkyWest Inc. to accept less money per block hour flown in the Delta schedule.

Silly me, here I thought the goal of a company was to make profit to share with owners and to reinvest. I did not realize we should only be trying to break even.
