Dear Future ExpressJet employees:
The company wants to see if you can follow directions (from your supervisors. ie Chief Pilot, Captain)humbly, without ego, backtalk or attitude while being ok to hang out with on a 3-4 day trip.
If they tell you to dot an "i", then dot it and then smile.
If they ask you a question, don't lie.
If you don't know the answer to a question, be honest and tell them. But you should also know where to find the answer.
Be sure and look up and to the left when you are thinking of an answer so as not to be construed as a liar.
Never mention anyone's name, past or present in a negative light.
If they ask you "Is that what so and so would say if we called them right now?" - you should answer "I I CAN'T SPEAK FOR THEM, HOWEVER.. I feel that they would agree with my assesment/story/idea, etc...."
Turn every negative situation/story that you plan on using in your interview into a postive outcome. If you don't finish a story, they will finish it for you in their own minds and the outcome will be negative.
Every story that you tell should be clear, concise and have a beginning, middle, and end (positive for all involved).
Remember, you are interviewing for a pilot position. tell them that you want to do nothing but fly 1000 hours per year and upgrade ASAP - even if it means sitting reserve in Siberia for 6 months. No offline type office stuff, no commuting questions, no vacation or sick policy questions- all of those kinds of things WILL be covered during your training.... AFTER you get hired!
Good luck to everyone, it should be a fun experience.
Looking forward to flying with all of you.
Sincerely,
B. Franklin
