For everyone who has been given a date to interview, what are you doing to prepare for the first round? Does anyone think that this will be basically a meeting discussing HR stuff? Any ideas?

If it's anything like mine was in Jan '01, it will be with at least one pilot and you will get aviation related questions.

New system but it appears that the old one-day process is intact.

I know that the CP's are taking requests from line pilots to participate in the interviews.

Good luck to all!

As far as I understand though, the last time express was hiring you had two interviews in one day, a morning and an afternoon. Now they are doing to interviews on two different days with a wekk or two between them.... So the process may be a little different. Hopefully, its not the old confrontational style ; )

d.

When I interviewed, they only did two interviews for some, not all. I only did one face to face interview.

Dresser is not involved anymore. ;)

I guess we'll know what the real deal is after the 9th, eh?

I got the call two days ago for an interview on the 16th. Haven't received the email with all the info yet. Keep the posts on the interview coming. We all appreciate it.

I did the online app on 12/25, yes dull holiday, and the phone interview on 12/26. My last appointment date is 12/29 on the website, and still no call. Anybody have a similar situation. Also, there is some specualtion that multi time is a consideration, I have over 1000, so don't know if it is.

if your info was sent to express from people scout on the 29th, as mine was, its probably (hopefully) too soon to expect a call. Late this week or next week is my guess - although I am suffering the wait too.....

Good Luck!

I got a call from Dawn moving my interview up to the 5th, just two days! She said if I came early, would be able to complete both interviews the same day. They are running the first class on Feb 16th. If anyone else has the same situation, please pm me.

1st class on the 16th! Outstanding. The last class of recalls starts that day, also. Glad to read that training is staying hot. Can't wait to see you folks on the line!

And now I guess the 1st interview date is the 5th.

Outstanding!

Good luck to everyone. :)

wow, that doesn't give ya a whole lot of time to mess around...good luck, don't forget about us with interview dates after you!

what was your original interview date? 9th? thats great that they moved it to the 5th, now you can post the gouge for the rest of us...

Well, I talked to the VP of HR again, and it sounds like you guys are on the right track. Apparently, they're going to have every applicant meet Express' VP of Flt Ops (very cool guy) and President . . . thus the two separate interview dates. There may be times when those two will be able to make it during the first day's interview . . . thus the possibility of one interview date for some applicants. The 'other' part of the interview will apparently consist of the typical HR and line pilot interview type stuff. One thing that was stated over and over as I got this information was that, after what's happened to everyone since 9/11, they will be watching closely for anyone who's gotten "bitter". So, blow a whole bunch of sunshine up your own a$$es before you go in . . . 'life is great, life is great', ad infinitum. As for class dates, apparently there are two slots open in the recall class of 2/16. Beyond that, who knows? From the seniority movement we're seeing from the inside, this whole thing's about to go ballistic. I go to 're-upgrade' 4/26! I look forward to having some of you as my 'gear bitches', since I've been one for over four years now!! Good luck, everybody!:D

Yeah, my original interview date was the 9th. I didn't recieve an email from Dawn for my new itenerary. I called Continental and they still have me booked for the 8th. I'll call in the morning to verify, but should be flying out tomorrow. I'll post the gouge as soon as I can reach a computer. With all of the beer I should be recieving, should be able to drink for free for a year. :D

Oh God, I hate all of you!!

CoEx turned me down, Not sure why I have 121 time to boot.

Well good luck I am sure it will be nice to interview with CoEx

Mine is on the 16th ... but I cant make it as I will be on the road with my current job for the next 2 months ... If I dont go, can I try again in the summer or will I be black listed forever :( ?

Also, where do I get my FCC RR?

HELP>>>

Can anyone pm me Dawn's phone number, or a number to someone close to her office, I've yet to recieve my email, and my interview is Wednesday, Thanks in advance, and I must say, everyone on these xjt posts seems to be a great, we should have fun!

fcc RR permit-

Go to the FCC.gov website and fill out.. the 605 form, then you will have to do the 159 form and pay 50 dollars...at least that's how I did it...Hope it helps

it will get approved probably the next day, you can call the 1-800# and they will give you your call sign number.....then look up your liscence online and print it up. The actual permit should take about 1 to 1 1/2 weeks to get to you....but it is the government we are talking abolut so you never know!

Someone here, on another post, said not to worry about the "old grid". The "new grid" is much simpler... I dont know that for sure though....

So, you may be doing alot of work for nothing....

FWIW!

My interview date was moved up to the the 5th as well. I originally had the 9th. I guess there is a class date of Feb 16th that needs to be filled. Anyone else on the 5th. PM me if you would like. Maybe we can hangout afterwards and grab a beer are something while we wait for the return trip.:D

THANKS A MILLION!!

Man, I appreciate the TONS of people who emailed me Dawn's #, she'll be getting a call tomorrow! I did find that they already have a flight scheduled for me on the 11th at 6:45am outta Memphis, so I'm not so worried now. I just called CAL and asked, and my name was there. I was beginning to think they forgot about me or something! Does her email that she sends say to bring LOR's, transcripts, driving record, etc.? I have most on hand already, but at the rate things are going, best way to get info around here is...........well............here.

It doesnt say to bring any of that....but I would bet its a good idea to have them. (LOR's, transcripts, driving record, etc.? ) It has instructions on what they want copies of such as your pilot certs. SS card, Drivers license, and it has the flight time grid you have to fill out with it.

I wonder if they will freak out when I tell them I lost my social security card? I do have the paperwork for a replacement, but you know those government people, it's gonna be at least two weeks before I see it. Anyone have this happen to them?

affirmative sewer...no ss card for me, but i did apply. im hoping ill get it before the interview. by the way, the ss ofice visit was a pain in the arse. they were serving 56 and i held number 101. thats what i get for losing the **CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED** thing in the first place.

Thanks guys. I got a passport so i guess one less thing. Are you guys treating the SIC column the same as dual time on the flight time grid sheet?

Hey, here’s a question:

How much cash have you guys dropped preparing for the interview?

Between the new suit, expedited passport, FCC license...etc, I’m a little afraid to look at my visa bill.
