Why interview a bunch of guys, tell them they are in a hiring pool and then furlough a bunch of guys? Is there a logical explanation?

I worked there a few years back. Got furloughed right before Christmas. Seems that's when they like to do it. I found other employment and never went back. I was offered a recall and they sounded dismayed that I had the nerve to turn it down.

Feel sorry for my old EZ friends. Heard today from 2 of them that there is another furlough to 42 crews with Captains at year 13 down graded to FO from January. What a great Christmas present from Del - unbelievable and truely sad.

6 out of how many? Our company just announced they'll be parking 2 out of the 5 remaining Classics around January.

6 out of 9 Classics... The only plane that has steady flying is the -400. The other 400 will not be on line till June. So it looks like things will be slow till then. This sucks!! You guys still looking for people?
