3rd year Emirates B777 F.O.

820 hours (hard work - 3rd world, back-side of clock, ultra-long haul, etc)

$92,450 (tax free)

Per Diem: Not sure, we get an envelope with local currency on check-in. e.g. 48 hr IAH = $165, 3 day Luanda = $500, 24hr moscow $85. Never have to hit the ATM unless its a "big" night.

Five bathroom villa with maids quarters in gated commumity = free.

All utilities = free (including gas for your outdoor BBQ)

Pvt education for kids free or heavily subsidized depending on school.

Chaufeur driven Volvo/Audi sedan to work = free

Universal family healthcare - almost free.

In-flight dining & service - top-notch. (I make sure I eat caviar, smoked salmon &fillet mignon at least once a week - coz it would be rude not to)

777 upgrade running at four years (for guys of my vintage that is. Today 7-8yrs)

BUT...drum roll...

...It aint Kansas over here.

Happy for now, but tip my hat to the boys at SWA

General Lee says that kind of flying was easy. Now I am confused.

Thanks for the chuckle. I found that pretty funny.

Where are the Airtran guys and their reports?

Gup

It's funny, a few years ago you guys where the bottom of the barrel as
far as pay and benefits.

Now, You seem to revel in every one else's problems.

Maybe that's why you never where hired by a "First Rate" airline.

A little humility, and an appreciation of the time others have put
into their careers would be in order.

No "Seat-Grab" Windfall.
