Not that I know the lady in question or her status, but a friend of mine did the whole russian bride thing, I suppose it might have been fun while it lasted, however, she got a greencard, he got a bill!

What do you think when a wife declares she will no longer work and her husband should take care of her if he is 'a real man', even though we have no kids and her man is a regional FO making about 3,000/mo. She wants to sell our house and move to an apartment if that is what it takes, but who says that is what I want. She had to have this house and furnish it with cetain things. Now she wants to bail and stick me with it even if I had to get a second job!! WTF!!!!

Unless you want to take care of someone else for the rest of your life, either set her a$$ straight or forget about it. I have no respect for women like this.

Sometimes, us guys are just thinking with the wrong head when we marry someone, and it takes a few years before the blood gets pumping up high enough that our brains start to kick in again.

I don't get the big hurry with getting married either. It seems to me that after two to three years, reality sets in and that's when you know if you are truly compatible long term. My fiancee and I have been together over 5 years. I have never questioned whether or not I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him, but the longer I am with him, time has just made me even more sure (like 150% sure instead of 100%). I think waiting a while doesn't hurt. Once you are married, if things change, it's a lot harder to get out of plus then the other person is legally entitled to half of your $hit (lame if you ask me but then again, I didn't make that stupid law).

I’ve already been played like that one time before. And this one has the green card along with her own business here in the US. I’ll keep the single life now and run the field. The way I see it is you can play the game or get played by the OTHER HALF.

That seems to be the norm now days. So the choice is crawl in a corner like a dog that has been beat or get off the bench and play it for all its worth. And if that grenade is getting ready to go off in your face, then get rid of it mate.

It is amazing how many are out there and what is possible after you get back on the ready line. A nice car helps I know that! LOL

Just never let anyone get that close again or you will end up eating that grenade!

Sorry to hear of your friend's bad experience. Based on personal experience, I would guess your friend either married a woman who had ulterior motives, or he treated her like crap so she didn't feel any remorse over using him to get a Green Card.

I have actually done the Russian Bride thing this second time around, and it has been a wonderful thing for me! I actually didn't go out looking for her, she found me (thru an ad I placed on the internet). We have been married nearly 4 years now and have two beautiful children (my avatar is a pic of my youngest ).

Is it a perfect relationship? Hell no! We have alot of the usual arguments. Are we happy together? Yes indeed! The difference between my previous marriage and now is that we work together as a team. The arguments can be pretty heavy (she is one HELL of a negotiator. Wish I could convince her to go to Law School), but we always work towards our common goals and settle our differences.

Finding your better half overseas and over the internet isn't the best course for everyone, I'll admit. However, it isn't necessarily a man-trap either.

Kewlbeans, Cooler! ^5 to ya! Please let us know where in Russia you go... I've been there a few times on my own dime also.

Not many Redheaded Russians out there, but I know there are a few. Just be careful of that redhead temper!
